> 3 dayI bought this device to replace an older switch that stopped working but had problems right after unboxing the new switch. I have an older version of the same switch purchased 18 months ago and it works fine. After two hours on the phone with tech support, they recommended changing some port settings with their proprietary SmartPhone app. However, after making the changes, the switch locked up and the app was unable to read the device. I tried doing multiple hard resets on the switch, but it didn’t work. Tech support was useless and hung up on me after the device locked up. It was frustrating!

Greater than one weekDiscovered that the ports on most WIFI routers have a maximum speed of 100m. If you have gig service then you are throttling down everything beyond the WIFI. This allows each of the devices to operate at their full potential. Unless you have a major business system, you do not need a managed system. Well pleased with this.

> 3 dayI’m still not an IT or computer wizard. Using this device with a CM1000 modem. Installed the modem, ran cat 6 cable from the modem to my WiFi router. Ran cat 6 cable from router to the switch (gs308). Ran various cables from other devices to the switch such as a WiFi access point from the garage (ring cameras), a smart tv, a couple computers. Have had no problems. It is nice to hook something up and forget about it. Would recommend this switch.

> 3 dayI switched the Switch that the builder had installed in my home which was completely wrong as it was made for landline and it did the trick! I connected my ROGERS modem to the Switch and I now have internet running through the entire house.

> 3 dayI like the simplicity. Plug it in and it works reliably. I have a 4 port cable modem/routers upstairs and used one of the ports to run an ethernet cable to my basement office. Now I have hard wired in that office another computer, a NAS drive, my main laser printer and an occasional laptop. Wiring versus wifi is less taxing and more reliable of a connection. And, can be more secure if thats an issue. Glad I went with Netgear - excellent value.
