Bought this 8 port gbps switch 3 days ago, and it was delivered today. While cleaning the mess on the left side of the computer armoire, I found a new unused Netgear 16 port switch. I originally speediest this 8 port gbps switch, and then the 16 port gbps switch. The 8 port performed nearly identical to the 16 port switch, and that was very impressive, unfortunately Im going to return it, simply because its no longer needed. It did extremely great, but the 16 port has double the network ports.

Great value for the price. Steady and reliable performance in an unmanaged switch. Though I couldnt tell from the product listing, there is a mechanism for being able to tell if you have 10, 100, or 1000 speed cables attached. I would definitely buy again.

Have ORBI Mesh on house, but while two place video streaming and kids plays Xbox and all smart home gadgets, wifi over working... now with this no brainer network switch, my firetv, xbox and streaming device all wire-up and wifi bandwidth free for other mobile and smart home devices... its great. Only thing i could have wish that power supply socket could be on side or back along with network cables so front panel could have no wires... Also i stayed in condo and have high wifi network interferences with neighbors... this the best way for heavy streaming devices off the WiFi and now with this i dont see online content watching or games downgraded to lower quality...

I have not been able to fully use this. As it turns out I was sent a used product. The serial number was already registered to a different Netgear account and part of someone elses network. May have to return but reached out to Netgear first.

I changed all the cat5e the builder ran throughout my house from RJ11 to RJ45 jacks because, who has a land-based phone line anymore? So I used this router to hook all the cat5e cables that meet up in my basement to my cable modem, and after replacing the RJ11 wallplates with RJ45 ones, now every jack in my house is a wired Internet connection. Good stuff.

Had an old 16 port Switch and it was giving me problems. Removed the old model and replaced it with this one and it worked right away without any installation of a driver or anything.

This is an excellent switch. My previous 5-port switch was full, and some ports didnt support devices I had tried using with it. With two different port groupings, this switch handled all of my requirements immediately upon plugging it in!

The NETGEAR 8-port Gigabit unmanaged switch provides an easy, reliable, and affordable way to expand your network connections in homes and small offices. It is plug-and-play and features a rugged metal case. Features also include Auto-MDI/MDI, LED indicator on each port, energy-efficient technology, fan less design, auto-negotiation and non-blocking switching architecture.
