> 3 dayIf youre looking for an inexpensive, 8-port dumb switch (perhaps to connect ethernet cabling throughout your house), this is a great option. No instructions really needed to use--simply connect your cables (with one coming from your router, of course) to the switch, and plug in the power adapter.

Greater than one weekThe Netgear 8 Port and also the 5 Port Managed Switches are a Dream for the Small Network Designer and Manager or Administrator. They are easy to setup, the manual is informative and helpful, and they Work Great. Which is really the Most Important Consideration. Once Configured, they do not need constant attention or Refreshing. Will use more often on small Business Networks that are becoming part of our offerings. Respectfully Robert Tonkavich, Port Huron Michigan

> 3 dayMy wired devices are all on the opposite side of the room from the internet outlet (and router), so to avoid using Wi-Fi for my desktop computer and such, I ran a cable from the router, around the room, and to this switch device, which then connects to all my wired devices.

Greater than one weekPurchased a switch so I could have my Desktop and Laptops on a hard line to the network. Worked flawlessly. Highly recommend this equipment for business and personal use.

> 3 dayVery good switch. Small design and does not limit internet speeds if you were to directly plug in your device from your router.

> 3 dayI bought this to replace a plastic 8 port 10/100 Netgear switch that Ive had since 2003. The 8 port switch still works, I just needed more ports & wanted gigabit speed. This thing shipped with dead ports & has to be constantly rebooted due to attached devices losing network connectivity. Its possible that I got a dud, but based on the other verified purchase reviews, its looking like Netgears quality control has gone to sh*t. I havent seen anything good about their customer support or RMA practices either.
