Moen 8718 Home 18-Inch Bathroom Grab Bar, Stainless

We measured wrong, and it was too big. We were very busy with the new bathtub surround that we didnt return it in time. Upset about the short return period because it wasnt cheap. Still in bag/box.

Needed a safety grab bar to put out at step sons house for his stairway up to his porch. This was a perfect fit, been in place for about 3 months now and works for us when we visit. Quite sturdy, was easy to install. Out in the weather and holding up well.

These grab bars are unreliable. They don’t stay up, and sometimes one of them would come crashing down in the middle of the night and wake me up after having scared me to death. Don’t waste your money.

Provides rock solid grab bar, love it provides safety in shower or other places around the home.....excellent!!!! Update: 4-11-19 Bars are excellent heavy duty....how ever the screws that are included are awful. They tend to strip out the Phillips screw hole making it nearly impossible to tighten them properly....and removing them....FORGET IT. I suppose this is so all you monster men out there dont over tighten in bathrooms over tile or ceramic and crack the tile. If you are a normal person and have a small amount of judgment...I recommend purchasing some 10 (3/16) x 2 HEX HEAD STAINLESS METAL SCREWS with stainless washers. Hex head so you use nut driver instead of screw driver and tighten them properly. BE VERY CAREFUL INSTALLING OVER TILE OR PORCELIN not to over tighten. With the hex head you also have the option of removing them if needed

My husband installed this for my recovery from back and hip surgery. This works great for helping me balance when I am done in the bathroom.

Moen makes a decent shower grab bar and the price on Amazon is comparable to purchasing in store at Home Depot. I found more color selection available on Amazon than at store which was a great advantage.
