I ordered this for my twin grandsons who are finishing up their kindergarten year. They have been receiving online instruction for most of the school year but I was amazed at the amount of sight words as well as phonics instruction they have received thus far. So, I decided this summer would be a good time to teach them how to use a dictionary. This was the only one that I felt would be appropriate for them as the others with high ratings are for children 8+. I checked the dictionary since there were some reviews of missing pages, etc. but as far as I can tell, there were no problems with the one I received. For less than $10, this is a great childrens dictionary.

Great gift for an elementary student. Learning from home is a challenge and does it work equally for all kids. My friends nine year old was struggling with her vocabulary. Did a little research and thought this might do the trick. It’s working well for her daughter and she enjoys using it to learn new words.

My daughter (7 years old) loves reading this. Sometimes she’ll sneak it to bed with her or get up and grab it. I can think of much worse things to get frustrated about. Rate it between easy and moderate. Depends on the person.

Sent this to my niece and she seriously had no intentions of using it. Just commented that her teacher had one just like it. My sister had her use it while writing a paper. Glad to report its helped so much that my sister noticed shed been packing it in her bookbag. Love that shes not only seeing proper spelling of words (which she struggles with) but also tense and synonyms. Id love to know why using a dictionary isnt taught or recommended in grade school, but in the meantime, im on a hunt for something pocket sized for that bookbag.

Remember when you asked for help looking up a word and your parent said, Go look it up in the dictionary! ? This is a good tool to have at home especially for 2nd + as they need to learn how to use a dictionary... per state standards. Came promptly and was new.

This version was printed July 2021. I have looked for the misspellings and missing pages. Those have been corrected. It’s a beautiful children’s dictionary. There is at least one picture on every page.

Although there were several reviews posted regarding errors in the book, once I received this dictionary, I carefully looked through and it does not contain the errors mentioned. They seem to have corrected not only the cover where individuals stated that compass was spelled wrong, but also errors inside the book. I bought this for my 11-year old son who wished to have a dictionary for Christmas. It is a good starter dictionary that can be used along the years. I highly recommend.
