> 3 dayI have purchased 2 of these for pregnancies in 2011 and 2012 and both casts have lasted but I have yet to get around to painting them. I am planning on purchasing another for my 3rd baby and I highly recommend it. I sat for each one so plan to be sitting upright for a bit. Yes, it is messy since you are working with plaster....if you dont dig on mess then dont waste your time. Of course you are going to have a baby and babies are far more messy then this product could ever be haha. My husband did the work and while it takes some time, I had no problem showering off the gook and the final product looked great. Afterall it is a DIY made with love project which is why I enjoyed it.....far less expensive then paying a professional and its handmade. As far as reinforcing and all that....well yes I suggest you do that after it is completely dry...as in several days later. Mine have not broken or chipped and of course you will need to clean it up by sanding the edges once it is completely reinforced. We moved from overseas with the first cast and it arrived perfect so crumbling, etc. was not an issue for us. I think if you rush it and dont reinforce it or allow it to really dry then you may have issues. More of a user error then a product problem. Great buy and wonderful memories. Happy to have them!!!

> 3 dayThese paints were so dry, that I had to push brush into them with water very hard (brush didnt like it, losing its hairs) to make them losing up and work. Still was only able to really use paints with a brush and not a sponge, since with a sponge there was not enough pressure and color was barely visible = hard to cover the whole belly. I still certainly had fun with them and I liked the glitter. I think i will be able to use leftovers of it for my make up now.

Greater than one weekYes its messy, but if you take your time and prepare an area (outside on a lawn chair, or in the shower) then cleanup is easy. You can spend time sanding/plastering to get a smooth finish, or spray a texture to hide imperfections. Also need to figure out a display or mount. You could use picture hooks but I used an LED color changing floor lamp that cost even less than this kit. Baby blue!

> 3 dayEasy to use, fun to do. Use a lot of vaseline on any part of your body that will have plaster on it, so it won’t hurt to take it off. Use warm to hot water, Trust there’s a difference. LAYERS! it will not be stable if you just put one or two layers, it’ll stay soft. We probably did 3-5 layers and even went back in for any “softer” spots to reinforce it. Deluxe definitely has enough for bottom of belly up to neck with some strips left over :)

Greater than one weekThis kit was very easy and fun to use. There is alot of powder that get everywhere when you cut the strips and it is very messy when applying however anything you may get on a surface other than the protection sheet they provide does wipe of very easily. I used the provided lubricant and had no troubles with it sticking to my skin at all, in fact after the first layers dried it popped right off and i had to hold it on for the remaining pieces. We made it pretty thick so im not sure on drying times, its still drying! its been almost 3 hours but the shape has held great so far. A little tip os make sure you smear the water around with the paste/plaster w.e. it is and fill in the little holes. Youll know what i mean when you get to that part. It makes a huge differnce in the surface being smooth after it dries. This was very simple to use i feel a ten year old could do a great job. I had my 75 year old grandmother help me do mine and looks fantastic. Super simple and a great price for the memory it holds. I rec this to all new mommy and daddys! I cannot wait to paint mine and hang it up, however im going to wait a bit after my son is born so we can add the details like time and date.
