29-10-2024This monitor absolutely does not play well with Windows 11. Deep Sleep Mode cannot be disabled and it takes several seconds to wake from sleep, Windows sometimes takes longer to respond. Worse is that when waking from deep sleep mode windows will randomly not maximize fully and a 1/2 of the desktop above the taskbar is cut off. This has something to do with windows scaling as changing the DPI back and forth resets to normal or turning the monitor off and on also resets it. However I believe this problem would not come up if there was an option to turn off deep sleep. And that there is no USB port means the monitor cannot be updated, not that LG would at this point, as they havent with the 850 model. Im not sure how these issues are not discussed in all of the glowing reviews on numerous tech sites as it is pretty well known that deep sleep in general is an issue with these monitors. And that has been fixed with the latest LG 4K model.

> 3 dayEverything I write is MY PERSONAL opinion. It may not match yours. I apologize if the monitor is bad for you. And thank you if the review was helpful. That was good choice. Good price, big enough, good picture, good refresh rate, it realy bright, colours are correct (for my eyes). Cables, 1.5 meters, included (1 HDMI, 1 DP). Flexible setting of parameters for yourself, and there are also presets that you can reconfigure. Everything works great so far. It has glare on the left bottom corner. I noticed it during the loading screen of Windows. First thought was that everything is bad, but then i forgot about it. In dark games I didnt see it. Cant say it about films, because I still havent watched so dark. Dont think that its gonna be a big problem The image becomes hazy only at an angle of about 150-160 degrees, but, anyway, still looks acceptable.

> 3 dayFirstly, you cannot use anything above 60hz unless you disable: Freesync premium, HDR (usually) and power saving mode. Only after changing these settings can you use refresh rates like 120hz or 144hz. Second, the screen seemed very saturated at first, so I turned all 6 color saturations to 37, down from the default 50. Additionally, the power plug is huge and cumbersome to arrange other cords around. Currently, I’m using a Samsung monitor power cable instead, which oddly enough, fits the monitor perfectly. The smoothness of motion on this IPS monitor is amazing on rocket league and think that makes all the frustration worth it (probably).

> 3 dayI have had this monitor for a bit over a year now. It has performed great for me and I am happy with my purchase. I have seen other reviews where people are experiencing issues with the screen flickering after a few days to months of use. I have had no such problem thus far. This is the nicest monitor I have owned and have been blown away with its performance. I use this single monitor for looking at family photos, browsing the internet, watching streamed movies/shows and playing games like Fallout 4 and Final Fantasy XV. The graphics are great. I have this monitor paired with an Nvidia GTX 1660 Supper, I think an RTX 3060ti or 3070 would be better for the 1440p gaming but those RTX cards are the same as gold right now. Based solely on my experience, I would recommend this monitor to others, especially if you catch it on sale. Like any product these days, I feel its a roll of the dice any time I make a purchase. 90% of the time things work out fine, the other 10% seems to fail spectacularly.

> 3 dayI upgraded to this from a 2008 1920x1200 2ms monitor. So I have to say my view may be skewed through that lens. That being said, I am very happy with this purchase. I have an EVGA RTX 3090 FTW and it pumps out great visuals at 1440p! Most games will max out at the 143fps (Windows 11 has a weird thing about decimals in refresh rates, so it defaults to 143 which is entirely fine with me. The viewing angles are very good and when compared side-by-side with my older monitor it is much less glossy. I can see my towers RGB reflecting in my old monitor like a mirror, but on this monitor its just a rainbow colored smudge that I never even notice unless Im looking for it against a black background. The shortcomings would be its lackluster HDR performance and also youre going to want to use a DisplayPort cable to ensure youre getting the max refresh rate with variable refresh rate through your Nvidia/AMD card. For the price, this is an excellent monitor that will look very good in a desktop setup. It even has an audio out port in case you want to use this with a console and not have to depend on headphones for audio.

> 3 dayIll be frank. Im having a hard time understanding the rave reviews from others. I used this monitor to replace an old Dell monitor that was so old it didnt even have full HD. While this monitor is definitely better, it did not wow me like I expected it to based on reviews her on Amazon. Is the picture clearer? Sure. Are the colors more vibrant? Yeah, thats noticeably better. However, I stacked this up against a Dell S2719DGF which is $100 cheaper and has 165 Hz refresh. The Dell also had a great picture with good color, almost as good as this LG, even though its not an IPS panel. Plus, it felt like it was a more solidly built monitor (e.g. the joystick on the LG feels cheap - like its going to stop working at any time.) The audio, specifically the DAC, on this LG is worse than the Dell. However, both are not good enough for me to use; direct to on-board audio is much better. I just cant see the big hype of this LG for the extra $100. I returned the Dell, oddly enough, because Dell customer service was a mess. They told me they would provide very limited support, because this FreeSync compatible monitor was connected to an NVIDIA card. That was pretty much a mess-up on their part, but nonetheless, a bit too shaky for me to keep the monitor. BTW - I have 3 LG TVs, so I know what to expect by way of quality and customer service. Plus, I obviously had a Dell monitor for years, plus a few Dell laptops, so I know that company pretty well too. This LG and the Dell both play well. G-Sync with my GTX 1060 worked seamlessly (pun intended) on both, even though the Dell is not considered G-Sync compatible. Plus, refresh rate is good on both. Incidentally, LG missed an opportunity with the software you can download to control monitor settings within Windows. They should include the ability to switch monitor modes with a shortcut. This would all but remove the need for the joystick (for my purposes). In general, the software is pretty useless. Even the feature to switch modes based on the running application does not work properly. A shame really - a lot of potential there. So, in the end, Im keeping this LG because it is officially G-Sync compatible, although it still does not show on the official list at NVIDIA (the 27GL850 does). Plus, it does have a good picture and the refresh rate is decent. However, its not worth the extra $100, if you can get over the limited support from Dell.

> 3 dayThis is a great monitory with really good color and display. But can someone please help me explain why my monitor would be stuck at 100 Hz and not 144 when I went to the NVDIA coolntrol panel. For some reasons it only gives me the options of 60 hz and 100hz. Not 144. Could someone please give me a solution? that would mean a lot.

Greater than one weekMy prior Samsung dual monitors on the same system never had a single issue. After purchasing a pair of these LG monitors it is all problems with sleep/power mode to the point the monitors crash - black screen and disconnect with my video card. I have been forced to completely disable all sleep and power management. I would have preferred to have sleep mode working but LG has not provided a working solution with their equipment. Tried monitor, video card and OS drivers with different versions etc also tried other OSs all the same result. Also tried using HDMI latest version of cables vs the Display Port cables being used - same issue, crashed black screens from sleep/power management. I wish I had known about this issue as I would have given consideration to other quality Monitor Manufacturers. The other features of the LG monitors is sufficient, HDR, GSYNC, FREESYNC etc and have thankfully functioned correctly.
