04-11-2024Ive used several 1440p 144Hz monitors (although I personally used a 1080p 144Hz TN Panel monitor before buying this), and I really have nothing but great words for this monitor (besides a few things of course). Pros: -1440p: Ive always thought 1440p gaming was objectively bad, but now that 1440p resolution monitors can reach high refresh rates, cheaper graphics cards can run games at 1440p, and well.... actually using a 1440p monitor daily, I can definitely say its worth it. Everything is much crisper and more vibrant (even just going from a TN panel to an IPS panel makes an insane difference in terms of color accuracy). -Doesnt look super gamery: (Ive always personally been steered away from gaming accessories that boast a super aggressive aesthetic and weird color pattern, which was one of the main reasons I picked this monitor) -LG: LG is widely known to make phenomenal TVs and Monitors, and this is no exception. Ive used an LG monitor in the past, along with multiple TVs, and I have never once experienced a dead pixel or any kind of major issue (The TVs are ~5-10 years old and I still use them to this day). I might be biased, though, as I previously explained I try to avoid super gamery accessories (in this case, the brand). - Configuration: This monitor uses a small ball-type button to push up, down, left, and right to navigate through the monitors settings, which is overall really awesome. Theres also quick configuration that allows you to change specific settings (such as brightness) without having to go through a few menus to change it like you normally would. LG did a great job on this! -Connectivity: This monitor offers 2 HDMI ports and 1 DisplayPort for connectivity, which is pretty awesome if you like having an extra console/PC at your desk -Monitor Stand: LG did an amazing job with the design of the included monitor stand. Assembling it was very straight-forward/easy and doesnt even require screws (unlike a lot of monitor stands). Even without screws, the monitor stand is pretty firm and the possibility of it falling off is the least of my worries. Cons: Ghostying: While I greatly appreciated the accurate, vibrant colors IPS panels produce when compared to others, I can definitely notice the monitor ghosting (trails of pixels that visibly lag) that this monitor displays. It can be hard to see and isnt extremely noticeable (I have to be looking closely to tell), but its something to take into consideration if that kind of thing bothers you. Other Comments: -GSync Compatible: This is honestly unnoticeable and definitely a marketing gimmick from Nvidia and compatible monitor brands, given that GSync Compatible offers virtually no additional features (it simply means Nvidia certifies a specific monitor as a Validated Experience), unlike actual GSync Monitors. You wont get a real GSync monitor anywhere near this price range, so its really not even a big deal. HOWEVER, I do notice that the monitor will sometimes briefly go black when opening a program (I have researched and found this to be an issue with GSync), which also isnt too big of a deal since it only lasts for a second or two.

Greater than one weekThis monitor is a great step up from the similar version of it that is 144Hz at 1080p. That one has a great balance of performance and picture. This one, however, doesnt have a great color balance but is able to properly output a sharp 1440p picture. It took some configuring, but I found a sweet spot for the picture to not look too cool and for blacks not to look as crushed. But now, 6 months after purchasing, I am noticing the screen flickering. If I load up a game, theres a chance that the screen will flicker. Theres even some flickers when Im not playing anything! I dont think the display itself has a problem, but its not handling G-Sync properly. I sent in a service request to have this looked at, which means Ill be without this monitor for a good month or so. Others seem to also have the same problem, so just be aware of this. Nice monitor, but some serious drawbacks that wouldve made me reconsider buying this.

> 3 dayIm not a techy, but it does what I need it to do. Tinker with the settings to make sure it doesnt automatically adjust brightness and youre ready to clutch it out in Fortnite or whatever Zoomers play

> 3 dayOverall: Great Purchase, would buy again Pros: +Both my first 144Hz and 1440p monitor, and can I just say, WOW. What a difference that refresh rate makes! I mostly play first person shooter games, and the difference really is night and day. +The bump in resolution isnt as noticeable to me, but I never was one to care much past 1080p. The image does indeed feel somewhat sharper however, and the added pixel count does have the effect of feeling like theres more room on screen in any use case. +Colors also are excellent, very vibrant and pop off the screen, at least to my eyes. +Coming from a 60hz 1080p display, the biggest differences were in the refresh rate and the SIZE. My previous monitor was only 21.5 inches, and the extra 5.5 on this model feels massive. +The stand feels solid enough, adjusts relatively easy, and leaves plenty of room on my desk with its wide, thin footprint. +All in all, a superior gaming experience from a 60hz display. Games like DOOM and Counter Strike feel buttery smooth, and are massively more immersive on such a larger display. +Bundle this monitor with a great GPU like an RTX 3070 as I have, and you are in for an excellent gaming experience. +Excellent quality control with my unit, not a single dead pixel and minimal backlight bleed in one corner. +Gsync works well with no problems or issues, and screen tearing is nonexistent. Cons: -The only con that I would be able to name would be the backlight bleed. This is an incredibly common problem to IPS type displays such as this, and is largely unavoidable and will be present to some extent, but on my unit the problem is minimized to the bottom left corner of the display and is only really noticeable on screens where deep blacks are presented. A mostly nonissue with my use, and the intended use of this display, gaming. I would however recommend a different monitor if your use would be video editing, or video streaming.

> 3 dayThe picture and refresh rate is perfect. And what a lot of people don’t know is that this monitor is also 4k. This is a great value for your money.

> 3 dayMy prior Samsung dual monitors on the same system never had a single issue. After purchasing a pair of these LG monitors it is all problems with sleep/power mode to the point the monitors crash - black screen and disconnect with my video card. I have been forced to completely disable all sleep and power management. I would have preferred to have sleep mode working but LG has not provided a working solution with their equipment. Tried monitor, video card and OS drivers with different versions etc also tried other OSs all the same result. Also tried using HDMI latest version of cables vs the Display Port cables being used - same issue, crashed black screens from sleep/power management. I wish I had known about this issue as I would have given consideration to other quality Monitor Manufacturers. The other features of the LG monitors is sufficient, HDR, GSYNC, FREESYNC etc and have thankfully functioned correctly.

> 3 dayThis was a big upgrade from my ancient 1020p ViewSonic, but after about a week of use, I noticed a dead pixel. After reading the LG Support horror story review here, I decided Id just let it be -- its usually not noticeable. Just FYI, if youve never used an HDR monitor for Windows 10, you will likely need to adjust the HDR brightness settings separately, otherwise the display may seem too dark for you for everyday use.
