> 24 hourInitial impressions were quite good. I was really impressed with the build quality on first taking it out of the box. Once I plugged it in though, it fell really short of my expectations. Im not sure if it has to do with the panel type since Ive only ever used ips and this va, but the image was very soft despite this having a greater pixel density than my last monitor. The screen was also quite dark, and adjusting it on my pc and the monitor just made the image look terrible even with other adjustments. I could only keep this one up for awhile before it started to make me nauseous. Keep in mind that unless you plan to wall mount or have a monitor arm, the stand forces the monitor pretty far away from the wall. I have a pretty large desk and it still felt like it was in my face because of how large it is and how close it has to be.

> 24 hourAbsolutely the best monitor that you can get for 1440p/144hz gaming. I use display port to connect to the PC so getting the max refresh rate is perfect. The viewing angles are great, the colors after a little adjustment, using the colors settings recommended from a video by Hardware Unboxed and the colors look great. It can get very bright if needed. It has an Audio out port to be able to connect headphones or external speakers to the monitor for sound and that is very convenient since external speakers or headphones will sound better than if the monitor had internal speakers. I dont experience any ghosting at all while gaming. Excellent monitor. 10/10 would buy again

> 24 hourYes its a working 144 Hz monitor, yes its 32 inches (31.5 actually). Thats about where the good things end. The pixels take a very long time to change from black to any other color. This has the effect of causing a motion blur when bright things move over a dark backdrop. Games do not look good like this, its like having the motion blur turned on, but some how worse. Even sitting about 20 inches from it, the edges of the screen appear more grey than white. At least this isnt a very expensive piece. Buyers remorse? Yes... I should have spent another $200 and gotten something I would actually like.

> 24 hourI like everything about the monitor when it works , but it often fails to wake from sleep or falls asleep while my computer is booting and is then difficult to wake it again. Do an internet search for this issue with these LGs. It is annoying as hell to use workarounds such as... Fiddling with the settings when I boot my computer so it doesnt fall asleep. Unplugging and plugging it back in to get it to wake. Turning the monitor power off when I will be afk for awhile so I can turn it back on again so it wont auto sleep. Yes I have sleep mode off on the monitor and on windows. This LG apparently ignores how I set the power saving modes. I have learned to use these workarounds and so I didnt bother to return it but only because of the pain of shipping back such a large item during the pandemic in the small towwn that I reside. How i bought it locally I would have taken it back within a week. The screen itself is nice once you tune it and I had zero dead pixels. I enjoy the colors, low glare and response time for gaming and I would recommend it if they could fix the sad hibernating bear issue.

> 24 hourI bought this in March 2019 (at $400) and its still my daily. This thing has given me so much value for what people consider a budget gaming monitor now adays. 1440p @ 144Hz is perfect for me.

> 24 hourSo Ive had this monitor for a little over a week just to be sure Ive gathered my thoughts enough to write a thorough review on it. For the price, (I bought it for $350) I think this is a fantastic value gaming monitor, and I am quite happy with my purchase. However, I would not recommend this monitor for people with small desks. Sitting too close would only magnify the inherent weaknesses of the panel. If you want to know more, keep reading. Strengths Contrast - This is really the main point of going with a VA panel over IPS or TN. The contrast is very good. The bright whites and dark blacks wipe the floor with the old TN panel I was running. It wont look as good as OLED, but I think it runs circles around TN or IPS. VESA Mountable - This might not be a big deal to other people, but it was actually very important to me. My plan is to mount two monitors to a single arm, so having VESA is necessary. Im actually kind of surprised how many brands out there still dont adopt this. Low input lag AND pixel response time - These are what make this monitor good for gaming. Not only can you get the input lag down to 1ms or so with the motion blur reduction setting, but the monitor itself has a pretty good pixel response time as well. Gaming feels really good, and I cant feel a difference between this and my TN panel. 144hz refresh rate - This was the first time I had ever tried 144hz, and I absolutely love it. Games feels so much smoother, and Windows itself runs so much better. I will never be able to go back to 60hz. Overall design - I really appreciate the subtle gaming design LG went with. I cant stand the look of some gaming monitors... they just look tacky to me. This one is good, and the small red accents stand out without being too gaudy. The stand - I wont be using it too much longer since Ill be dual mounting my monitors to a single arm, but I really like the stand. It has full movement options (raise, rotate, tilt), and its pretty sturdy too. The footprint is also relatively small considering how large of a panel it has to hold up. I also appreciate the cable management clip, which can also double as a headphone mount. Keyboard/mouse cable management - Along the bottom of the panel, there are multiple ports to attach a tiny cable management ring. The ring itself is really cheap, and I feel like if you yank on in too hard it would probably just fall out or break... but I still greatly appreciate it. Its a nice feature that helps make your desk look cleaner than it would without it. Slim bezels - This monitor features a dual bezel design. It has an ultra slim plastic bezel along the outer frame, and a slightly thicker one under the panel itself. While powered off you can really only see the slim outer bezel, but once you turn it on both bezels will be visible. You should be able to see the difference in the photos provided. On screen control - I really like the look of LGs on-screen menu. It definitely feels gamer-y without looking tacky. In my opinion, only Samsungs gaming monitor menu looks better. Where LG crushes everyone else though is the menu control. The navigator is a small dial on the bottom of the panel, and I love it. It makes changing any setting quick, efficient, and painless, and there is no guesswork like with button-based controls. The dial also serves as the monitors power button. Its a single click to turn it on, and a single click then up on the dial to power down... easy. Weaknesses Pixel Density - In my opinion, this is the weakest aspect of the monitor. Its also why I would not suggest this to people with small desks. If you sit too close, you will be able to see the pixels and it wont look great. The monitor also has a hard time displaying really fine text, which is why some people complain about blurriness. This makes me think that a 27inch option for this monitor really would have been perfect, but I dont think a 1440p model was available at 27 inches. VA Panel Weaknesses - VA panels typically struggle with grey to grey pixel transitions, and I do notice it with this monitor... although not much. In games, its almost impossible to tell unless youre actively looking for it. I however do notice it in Windows Dark mode. When I move window panels around, there is a trail of smudginess that follows them, but it isnt too bad honestly. Its very minor, and I doubt most people will even notice it. What I think people will notice more is the discoloration of (heres that problem again) fine, dark text when you scroll. When there is quick movement, thin text will turn purple due to that weak color transition. Not a big deal in my opinion, but some people wont be able to get past it. Other various weaknesses - Theres no USB pass through, which is available on the higher models (for about $200 more), but it isnt worth it in my opinion. Colors are good, but not great.. it wont be able to compete with IPS panels in that department. Out of box settings will probably need to be changed. Some of the settings like brightness were way too high. Viewing angles will be limited, but I literally couldnt care less. The only time this makes a difference is for TVs in large rooms. Im sitting directly in front of my monitor, I dont need wide viewing angles. The power brick isnt built into the monitor, and I wish it were. Those fat bricks make it so much harder to manage cables, and they just look ugly. Overall, Im very happy with my purchase. It has made gaming such a pleasurable experience with the low input lag, high refresh rate, 32inch size, and 1440p resolution. I really do feel like I got the full package and for only $350 too. If the pixel density were better, it would have been an EASY 5-star review.

> 24 hourUpgraded from 1080p 60Hz 27 to this and theres so much more screen real estate. - GSync works well with this monitor (GTX 1080 - Tested with Rocket League). - Needed to adjust NVidia Control Panel settings to bump up to 144Hz from 60Hz and enable GSync for the display model. - Basic monitor adjustment to enable Freesync and turn down brightness. Frame rate is shown from menu. Setting nub is easy to navigate. - Attractive. Feels sturdy and easy to adjust screen position. - Also comes with an attachment on back for cable management. One of the best monitors for the price! Fast shipping! Lucked out with no dead pixels on arrival. May update later as I use it more.

> 24 hourThis is a VA panel. Ive had VA panels in the past but this is probably the worst one in terms of blur while there is movement on the screen. With dark enviroments or pictures, it will leave a blurry streak when moving. In some pictures and games, it almost as if you are playing the game drunk or with water in your eyes. The picture quality and colors are great, but if you plan on using this for anything that requires even somewhat frequent movement (shooters, movies, ect) I would advise against the purchase.

> 24 hourIf youre like me youve been reading reviews for monitors and all of them have negative reviews of some sort so you dont know what to buy. This result is absolutely killer for everything but one thing. Text. Text doesnt look as good on this monitor vs. a smaller one, on top of that scrolling white text on a black background, even at fastest response 144hrz freesync, there is ghosting. So if you can deal with that, this monitor will be rock solid.

> 24 hourI wanted something decently priced to upgrade from my 1080p monitor after purchasing a PS5. This is definitely a noticeable improvement over that, although it’s not capable of showing what the console is truly capable of. The size is perfect for FPS games and all other games, and the crosshair settings help a lot in games like Call of Duty. I think if you’re looking for something in this price range for your next-gen gaming experience, this is a solid pick. I’m very happy with this monitor for now until 8k monitors become the norm.
