This is likely the best monitor that Ive owned. Color, brightness and image definition are excellent. The speakers are oriented away from the user. That is less than ideal. Ful disclosure, I seldom have audio on when operating my desktop. My main gripe is the on/off button. It has dual functionality in that it is also used to access various monitor controls. Not infrequently when I try to power the monitor off, it instead brings up a control menu. A bit annoying. Id prefer two buttons.

I ordered this monitor hoping to save some space and money over going the route of a traditional 4K monitor and a USB-C/Thunderbolt docking station for my macbook. I was hoping to be able to use one cable for video, data and charging. It works, most of the time, but the USB-C features on this monitor have some frustrating issues. The monitor has issues charging my macbook, sometimes dropping the charge current to less than 10 watts, or other times stopping it entirely, which can only be resolved by power cycling the monitor. Im not sure what the power rating of the USB-A ports on the back of the monitor is. They work well enough with thumb drives, graphic tablets, keyboard & Mice, other low current items, but trying to charge an iphone from them causes a USB power error message to pop up. The audio output on the monitor is not always detected by my laptop, and often requires disconnecting and reconnecting the USB-C cable to get it to work. The mute and volume keys on the apple keyboard are disabled when using the monitors audio output which is a common problem with many cheaper digital audio interfaces, but is still frustrating when compared to dedicated desktop hubs, or USB-C monitors from Dell or Apple which still allow you to use these keys. I downloaded the software package from LG hoping that it would include drivers to enable these features or improve the reliability of the other USB-C features but it does not change anything. The display itself is gorgeous and I have no problems or complaint with it as just a monitor, but I think the USB-C implementation fails to justify its added cost over the displayport only version of the same monitor. Im making it work but will probably purchase a thunderbolt 3 hub eventually to hopefully handle charging and audio more reliably. I love the image quality of the 4k display but if I were to do it again I would either get the cheaper displayport only version of the monitor and an external hub or look at options from Dell or another manufacturer.

The monitor is great but there is a problem and Im wishing to get a reply from LG on this issue. So I need help. The HDR has the problem of slightly changing brightness while watching a movie on PC or playing a PS4 pro game in HDR, even when Smart Energy Saving is set to off(which is actually grayed out when in HDR mode) So I set it to off when in SDR mode, then I hop into HDR mode again and the option looks to be still off but it is grayed out(As if the HDR is not even considering that option when it is in use). So What exactly is this?. Is this Normal LG?

Purchased after reading a multitude of reviews for this model and the prior year versions of the same monitor. Went with this newest version. Out of the box connected to a 2020 13” MacBook Pro via the pass through USB-C. One cord- that’s it. I run the Mac on a vertical stand cover closed only using the new monitor as my primary display. No issues with the Mac running with the lid closed at all. Mac immediately charged fast over the included USB-C cord which was a big selling point for me- video and pass-through charging on the included cord. Out of the box the only settings I changed were to increase the brightness to full, increase the sharpness to full, enable the “Super Resolution”, and dial back the audio volume to 20. Unlike a lot of reviews, I found the adjustment joystick easy to use and intuitive. Took all of 5 minutes to adjust the settings, adjusted nothing on the Mac at all. Colors just plain pop. Graphics are crystal clear, tack sharp, and amazing. I agree with other reviews I dislike there is no audio control from the Mac keyboard like I’m used to, but it’s easy to get to from the joystick on the bottom of the monitor to adjust if needed. Audio sounds quite good for a monitor, can’t complain much about the quality. Music sounded just fine. I purchased to use for photo editing, not video, so audio is secondary to me anyway. Very large power brick, plastic construction minus the stand- which is sturdier than it appears. Tilt adjustment, height adjustment, very nice! Virtually no bezel- awesome. Very happy- great pairing to the MacBook. My previous computer was a 2011 27” iMac, and this screen blows that screen away- obviously technology has improved. Would purchase again for sure.

Have been using this for a few months now for my M1 MacBook Pro. This works great and has the benefit of being able to connect to the MacBook using a single, USB-C cable. Pros: - the picture is nice and clear - works flawlessly on M1 MBP - IPS Cons: - Wish the refresh rate were higher than 60hz - Wish you could daisy-chain these monitors together I feel the pros outweigh the cons. Love this monitor and would purchase it again for my WFH setup. Not recommended for gaming.

Purchased this monitor for my M1 Macbook Air and Xbox Series X. I love being able to connect only one USB C cable to my mac for power and video. The control knob is simple and just works. The monitor has a great port selection but I have not tested the USB hub for transfer speeds with my laptop. The stand feels solid and I like having the monitor up higher so my laptop screen can be open directly beneath. The included cable management clip is cheap but it works well enough. Hopefully, this monitor lasts me for years as Im a big fan. Works great for 4k @60hz on the Xbox Series X.

This is the second one I’ve got that’s similar to each other I wanted a double screen system for my computer and and I love the way it works only thing is my older screens a little darker not enough to really make a difference the new one is a very good screen

Running this on a Macbook Air 2018. Its great, once its configured at a proper resolution -- almost as good a screen as the Airs own Retina. Has a matte finish, but thats no issue to me. Displays text and graphics quite sharply. The only drawback is that I also tested it with a 2014 Mac Mini, and for that there is simply no adequate resolution that looks good, even via the utility SwitchResX which is my go-to in such cases. But with modern hardware I wouldnt think anybody would have cause for complaint, and I certainly like both the USB-C cable for delivering power to my laptop and the extra ports on the back, including two USB-3 ports I use for things like external drives. Highly recced. You wont likely be sorry.

Excellent screen resolution as used for the main screen for coding and creating in Blender with my 2019 MacBook Pro 16, but THIS IS NOT THE ULTRAFINE AS LISTED. I am still keeping the product as it is a great price for the quality, but buyer beware! The built-in speakers are not good when compared to the built-in speakers of the MacBook I am using. Also when it is first hooked up make sure to uncheck High Dynamic Range in the settings so the colors actually match your built-in retina display colors.

Upgrade to an LG UltraFine IPS 4K screen, delivering ultra HD resolution with supremely accurate colors, even when viewed off-angle. The 27-inch display offers versatility of USB Type C connectivity (60 Watt power delivery) plus the benefits of HDCP 2.2 compatibility, so it will seamlessly display 4K content from a variety of sources. Experience smooth gameplay with AMD FreeSync (used with supported video cards), virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering that occur as a result of the difference between a graphics card"s frame rate and monitor"s refresh rate. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly. Keep visibility even in dark scenes—LG"s Black Stabilizer senses dark scenes and helps make it brighter so that you can find the enemies hiding and waiting to attack your player in the dark. *Software download required to enable OnScreen Control.
