I really struggled with the decision for what monitor to buy for my new Apple MacStudio computer, and was seriously considering spending another $2k on the Apple Studio display, but after reading ALOT of reviews I settled on this LG ultra fine 27 inch display and saved myself about $1500! It is a great display, plenty of brightness and clarity of color. From now on I’ll stick to Apple for my computers but there is no need to spend the extra money on their displays when these lower priced options are just as good!

The screen itself is pretty good in most aspects for the price, except HDR. I tested the monitor with Windows, Mac, PS4, and PS5 in HDR, the colors just do not look right compared to my TV (Sony X900H), no matter how I tune the gamma, contrast, and so on. Peak brightness is okay, but the minimum brightness can be too bright under low light conditions, it is still pretty high compared to the MacBook that I mainly use this screen with. The stand is pretty nice, the screen can be mounted and unmounted quickly, and the screen can be rotated vertically. Although it can only be rotated clockwise by 90°, you cant rotate it counterclockwise, which can be a problem if you had a multi-screen setup and decided to put this monitor closely to the right of another one, the menu joystick at the bottom of the screen would be hard to reach. Speaking of the menu joystick, its not the easiest thing to use, I would prefer a few buttons.

Screen quality is great but read below: After months of having this monitor and too late to return it. I was looking for split screen or PIP with different sources connected to the monitor inputs and found out it does not exist. to my horror. I never imagined a $750 monitor would have this feature missing. My crappy $200 Samsung has this feature in the menu settings and so does my other LG.

Ive been looking for the perfect monitor for the past couple of years and didnt want to spend all that money on the new Mac studios. I finally took the plunge with this monitor after extensive research and Im so glad that I did!! This a GREAT option for graphic designers like myself as the coloring out of the box was good to go. I almost like it better than my Macbook pro display. Its also probably one of the few budget friendly monitors out there that not only has great specs but looks great as well. I wanted something aesthetically pleasing alongside my mac. If you do any design, photo, or video work – this monitor is for you!

I spent a considerable amount of time researching monitors to pair with a new M1 Mac Mini. Years ago I did most of my work on an iMac, and when I upgraded to a Mac Pro I went through half a dozen different monitors trying to get that ultra-sharp, bright iMac retina display look on a 3rd party monitor. I landed on 2 of these 27UN850s to pair with the new Mac Mini. Im running 1 via Thunderbolt and 1 via HDMI, and both look pretty amazing right out of the box. Not quite the retina display type wow factor, but at this price point (less than $500 each) you really cant touch these monitors. I was also considering the Apple-endorsed LG Ultrafine 4k; but knowing Id be mounting these on an arm and without much need for the increased power delivery via USB-C, these were $300 cheaper (each) and look nearly as crisp. If I had one complaint it would be that the built-in speakers sound boxy and flat. Im not using the internal speakers anyway so its not a big deal for me - but if youre looking for any depth in your audio with these you may be disappointed. I dont think anyone expects monitors to have amazing sounding speakers anyway.

I highly recommend two large computer screens for internet use. This one was easy to hook up and looks good and is small enough to fit under my shelving. A previous different brand screen failed after a few years. I am hoping this will last more than a few years. It is a LG which we have had good luck with with our TV. Hopefully Amazon will ask me in five years whether this is a good product. It is crazy to ask in two months whether this will last!!!!!

I have a Apple Mini and was using a old Samsung monitor. I hooked this up and wow, what a difference! This thing is bright, crisp and a good size. I love Apple products, but couldn’t justify buying their expensive monitor.

Per se, its a good monitor. Decent picture quality, very high resolution, sharp image (its 4K after all), easy to mount and set up. Huge panel with a lot of real estate which is always welcome. If you dont compare it with anything else, you will be quite happy with the monitor. BUT: I was expecting it to replicate the LG ultrafine sold on Apples website for me. I already have one of those monitors in my office and was hoping to have the same experience at my home office too. Same manufacturer, apparently same technology, similar specs, good to go, right? But its where the disappointment began. The image quality, the sharpness, the brightness, and the color delivery come nowhere near like that. Even the build quality is inferior: The plastic frame, cables, stand, everything feels less premium. I have no idea if theres any fundamental technological difference between the two panels, or its mostly a matter of firmware/software, but Id go for that Apple-overpriced ultrafine LG panel any day. MACBOOK PRO USERS BEWARE: This monitor has problems with MacOSs HDR. Right off the bat, its activated, shocking you by a pinkish downright garbage image quality once you turn on the monitor and connect it to your Mac. Either Apple or LGs fault, youll need to disable it to get a decent image profile. Thats all I came across through my hours of googling to fix it. (What? I didnt buy a half-a-grand HDR monitor only to disable it!!) VERDICT: Quite disappointed since I expected more based on reviews etc. Still debating between returning it - as much as I hate returning stuff due to the environmental impacts etc - and going for an LG ultrafine from Apple, or keeping it and trying to be happy with it. UPDATE (1 month later): Decided to keep it and give it time so it has a chance of growing on me. Im now quite used to the image quality. No big complaints anymore. The HDR problem with MacBook is still there, even after MacOS 11.4 update. No big deal though as long as you keep it off.

Fantastic resolution! I am using it with a Mac Mini M2 without any issues. I love the Apple RGB color palette on this screen.

Upgrade to an LG UltraFine IPS 4K screen, delivering ultra HD resolution with supremely accurate colors, even when viewed off-angle. The 27-inch display offers versatility of USB Type C connectivity (60 Watt power delivery) plus the benefits of HDCP 2.2 compatibility, so it will seamlessly display 4K content from a variety of sources. Experience smooth gameplay with AMD FreeSync (used with supported video cards), virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering that occur as a result of the difference between a graphics card"s frame rate and monitor"s refresh rate. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly. Keep visibility even in dark scenes—LG"s Black Stabilizer senses dark scenes and helps make it brighter so that you can find the enemies hiding and waiting to attack your player in the dark. *Software download required to enable OnScreen Control.
