I bought two of these monitors: 1. The first one is to connect to a Chromebook for distance learning (via USB-C) and a Kano (via HDMI) for tinkering with code projects. The monitor works great and charges the Chromebook over the USB-C connection. The audio is adequate and is substantially better than the audio in the Chromebook. 2. The second one is to connect a MacBook Pro (via DisplayPort 1.2) for office productivity and watching 4K HDR content and a Dell Optiplex (via HDMI) for office productivity, gaming, and watching 4K HDR content. These monitors perform flawlessly in my two environments! I enjoy the flexibility of having USB-C, DisplayPort, and two HDMI ports to choose from for my inputs. Having these monitors with the built-in adjustable stands allows us to position everything ergonomically to prevent neck and eye strain. Ill update this review in the future after weve used these monitors for a few more months.

I purchased a second monitor, as I moved the first to my new iMac. After several months, I am very please with the first monitor. I will post the same review below for the second monitor, as it now is attached to my MacBook Pro. This monitor is great for the price. I easily assembled the stand, plugged in the USB-C cable, and it was up and running on my 2016 MacBook Pro. The picture was fine out of the box, though way too bright for my dark studio. The colors are a little off with the auto-setting compared to the MacBook, so I will need to adjust them a bit. If anything the screen is a little too large, but I wanted the real estate to post-process photos. This was a very good purchase.

This is likely the best monitor that Ive owned. Color, brightness and image definition are excellent. The speakers are oriented away from the user. That is less than ideal. Ful disclosure, I seldom have audio on when operating my desktop. My main gripe is the on/off button. It has dual functionality in that it is also used to access various monitor controls. Not infrequently when I try to power the monitor off, it instead brings up a control menu. A bit annoying. Id prefer two buttons.

I bought this model LG because this is the model that I read that was used in a lot of Apple iMac models. I wanted a display that had excellent color accuracy since I do photo and video editing. The first one I bought was FANTASTIC! I could see that the colors, contrast, etc. were SPOT ON when comparing to my iMac 27. I give my first monitor 5 stars in all categories! I purchased a second monitor of the same model. I wish I could say the same. The second was HORRIBLE! I made sure the settings were the same on the new monitor as the first one and the picture quality was terrible. I promptly sent the monitor back. Im worried about buying another one and it being just as bad as the second one.

First, when connected to my MacBook Pro 16, this is an awesome monitor. Setup was easy, and it gracefully handles being plugged in, and unplugged. The speakers on the back are even useful. Now for the bad. Theres no easy way to adjust the sound when the app doesnt present a volume slider. When using with Linux, it sort of works, but there are no settings that can place the monitor in some kind of comparability mode, so I get half a screen what is basically unusable. This means that in my dual setup, If I want to do development on Linux, I need to use another monitor.

DCI-P3 98% coverage, brain dead color calibration, 4k, 32in, and the blacks are similar to my va monitors. Checks all the boxes off my list. The refresh rate could be higher but that doesnt matter for my work so this is a 5 stars from me. Nice value from what I can tell.

I researched several monitors to pair with my new M2 Mac Mini and chose this one. Very happy with it just as it came out of the box. Disclosure: Ive not tried tweaking the picture at all. There is a comprehensive manual that I have merely glanced at. Just out of the box this is simply great.

The screen itself is pretty good in most aspects for the price, except HDR. I tested the monitor with Windows, Mac, PS4, and PS5 in HDR, the colors just do not look right compared to my TV (Sony X900H), no matter how I tune the gamma, contrast, and so on. Peak brightness is okay, but the minimum brightness can be too bright under low light conditions, it is still pretty high compared to the MacBook that I mainly use this screen with. The stand is pretty nice, the screen can be mounted and unmounted quickly, and the screen can be rotated vertically. Although it can only be rotated clockwise by 90°, you cant rotate it counterclockwise, which can be a problem if you had a multi-screen setup and decided to put this monitor closely to the right of another one, the menu joystick at the bottom of the screen would be hard to reach. Speaking of the menu joystick, its not the easiest thing to use, I would prefer a few buttons.

Per se, its a good monitor. Decent picture quality, very high resolution, sharp image (its 4K after all), easy to mount and set up. Huge panel with a lot of real estate which is always welcome. If you dont compare it with anything else, you will be quite happy with the monitor. BUT: I was expecting it to replicate the LG ultrafine sold on Apples website for me. I already have one of those monitors in my office and was hoping to have the same experience at my home office too. Same manufacturer, apparently same technology, similar specs, good to go, right? But its where the disappointment began. The image quality, the sharpness, the brightness, and the color delivery come nowhere near like that. Even the build quality is inferior: The plastic frame, cables, stand, everything feels less premium. I have no idea if theres any fundamental technological difference between the two panels, or its mostly a matter of firmware/software, but Id go for that Apple-overpriced ultrafine LG panel any day. MACBOOK PRO USERS BEWARE: This monitor has problems with MacOSs HDR. Right off the bat, its activated, shocking you by a pinkish downright garbage image quality once you turn on the monitor and connect it to your Mac. Either Apple or LGs fault, youll need to disable it to get a decent image profile. Thats all I came across through my hours of googling to fix it. (What? I didnt buy a half-a-grand HDR monitor only to disable it!!) VERDICT: Quite disappointed since I expected more based on reviews etc. Still debating between returning it - as much as I hate returning stuff due to the environmental impacts etc - and going for an LG ultrafine from Apple, or keeping it and trying to be happy with it. UPDATE (1 month later): Decided to keep it and give it time so it has a chance of growing on me. Im now quite used to the image quality. No big complaints anymore. The HDR problem with MacBook is still there, even after MacOS 11.4 update. No big deal though as long as you keep it off.

Upgrade to an LG UltraFine IPS 4K screen, delivering ultra HD resolution with supremely accurate colors, even when viewed off-angle. The 27-inch display offers versatility of USB Type C connectivity (60 Watt power delivery) plus the benefits of HDCP 2.2 compatibility, so it will seamlessly display 4K content from a variety of sources. Experience smooth gameplay with AMD FreeSync (used with supported video cards), virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering that occur as a result of the difference between a graphics card"s frame rate and monitor"s refresh rate. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly. Keep visibility even in dark scenes—LG"s Black Stabilizer senses dark scenes and helps make it brighter so that you can find the enemies hiding and waiting to attack your player in the dark. *Software download required to enable OnScreen Control.
