> 3 dayThese worked perfectly in my dripping Kohler whirlpool tub faucet. The biggest challenge was figuring out which size to buy and then removing the old one. Over the course of about a week, I tried spraying the old one with WD40 and then PB Blaster every day or two. Neither worked well enough to loosen the bolt. A friend had a much larger ratchet than mine which I borrowed and it did the trick — probably because I could get a lot more leverage on the longer handle. Next time I would try even insterting the end of my smaller ratchet into a pipe to lengthen it. In this photo you can see my much smaller ratchet next to the granddaddy sized one that I borrowed that did the trick.

> 3 dayMy faucet developed a leak around the handle. After some research I found the Kohler parts # and Kohler supplier DPL on Amazon and bought this item. It has been three months since I installed the valve. So far it functions well, no more leaks around handle, and the handle feels smooth too. However, I can only give it three stars because of the following: 1) The water flow is reduced after installing this valve. This is due to the fact that the two window openings on the valve body are smaller than that on the original one. 2) The size of the hex nut also changed. I used a deep socket (5/8?) to take out the old one without difficulty; however, the same socket cannot be used to install the new one because the hex nut is larger. I had major trouble to find the right tool to do it. I finally used a standard-depth socket, which barely grabbed the hex nut, to install it. 3) Most importantly, I was fooled into thinking that I was buying a genuine Kohler part. I only found out today that it was not. I got the part from Kohler, which is exactly same as my old part, but different from this one. I also spoke with Kohler representative; and I was told that they have not changed the design of this valve since 1998.

> 3 dayI originally ordered GP1092203 and that is for the same faucet, but a newer revision. If you have the older version then you will need this all brass and copper valve (the good old quality Kohler) otherwise the newer part number is largely plastic and wont even be close to fitting. Unfortunately the only way I know how to tell the difference is disassemble the faucet before ordering the replacement part.

> 3 dayOne of the earlier reviews stated that these did not look the same as the originals and were not made by Kohler. These are - and they come with a spline adaptor so dont bother buying them (You can also likely remove them from the old cartridges. If you have difficulty in removing the old part - put some vinegar on it and let it set for a few minutes - a suggestion I received from Kohlers customer service department (Who did an outstanding job helping me). You probably wont need vinegar unless you have hard water - the water here is so hard you have wear a hardhat when it rains. Once the corrosion is dissolved, it is easily removed and the new one is installed. (I recommend using pipe dope or teflon tape so that if you have to remove it in the future it will be easier to do so.

> 3 dayThis part was recommended by Amazon when I purchased my faucet. This part belongs in a bathroom shower. I never used it and was not able to return it because Amazon wouldnt take it back.
