The one I got was brass, which was just like the other one (I got both a clockwise and counter-clockwise). Replacing both hot and cold. However removing the old set was not easy; they did not unscrew easily. But the new set bolted right in.

Part was exactly what I needed to repair faucet and save large plumber bill. works great.

Please Note: COLD is the right hand side Part number KOHLER GP77006 RP-Cold. $12.65 HOT is the left hand side. Part number KOHLER GP77005 RP-Hot. $6.34 The picture on AMAZON Prime shows Chrome finish is only the shine glare the parts are Brass. I used this two hot & cold to replace KOHLER 2 Faucet Wall Mount Roman Jacuzzi Tub from 1998 era. The new KOHLER brass valves does NOT have the Red plastic nor the blue plastic to indicate hot & cold. So the part numbers are the indicators of hot & cold. Please note that the cold brass valve has a plumbers blue dye on the top, but since it is on brass it shows as Red, dont let that confuses you that is the Hot valve. Picture looks like it is silver plated but it is brass. Cold side. Works well.

Original kohler replacement ceramic valve, arrive timely, easy to install, fair price.

Works as advertised, but there is a noticeable stiffness that other replacement parts do not have. Not pleased, but not worth swapping out since we dont use the faucet that much.

Fixed my leak in the bathroom faucet and was super easy to install! It was actually cheaper here than at home depot
