> 3 dayI was expecting this laptop to be a bit under-powered, and not quite up to the mark in video and audio. I was completely wrong: this machine blew past my expectations. For a general use laptop, used for web browsing, word processing, and similar purposes, this is more than an adequate machine, this is really very good. The performance is more than acceptable: I havent noticed anything being unusually slow or erratic, it just runs smoothly and fast. The display is 1920x1080 (so HD but not 4K), and clear and crisp for watching online video (for example). The audio too is surprisingly good: you can play music on it and enjoy the well-balanced sound, no cringing necessary.

08-11-2024I love how light this laptop is and its so thin! Super fast also. They only things I would like to have had in hindsight is a lighted keyboard, but other than that its a great laptop. The fan is a little loud sometimes, but not all the time.

> 3 dayPerformance has been better than I expected. I keep my screen at full brightness, so the battery does not last as long as advertised, but it still has outstanding battery life. Overall great laptop/no issues after about a week.

> 3 dayI wish there would have been something saying it was a matte screen. I’ll give the speakers a good rating. Not worth $600

Greater than one weekAt first, everything worked perfectly! I thought it was a GREAT value for the money. Fast forward 5 months later, the network adapter malfunctioned for no apparent reason, conveniently after the software warranty expired (3 months). Thankfully I purchased the warranty option with asurion but there is still an out of pocket cost which doesnt make me happy AT ALL (since the laptop is basically brand new), plus getting it repaired is such a hassle.

Greater than one weekUpdate 2020-07-30: This computer features two USB 3 ports on the left hand side. When a Logitech mouse and a Toshiba disk drive are connected to these ports at the same time, one of them becomes intermittent. Usually its the mouse, but today it was the disk drive. At this time the computer is plugged in and charging. I cannot recommend this computer for any application.

> 3 dayI got the HP 15-inch FHD laptop for my daughter in case school was cancelled again due to coronavirus. (Her Mac broke). It is a reasonable price, but has some flaws, hence the 4 star review. I love that it has a 10 hour battery life and is very lightweight, so its very portable. However, if I wanted to use it as a work-from-home computer, this is not functional as it doesnt have a Ethernet port as some employers require that. So, its Wi-Fi or nothing. HP needs to put one in to make it more compatible for various usages.

> 3 dayI am in the return process currently for this product. While it is lightweight and has a nice look, there are glitches. I have also experienced the blinking screen that one review mentioned. This happens randomly and this is hard to navigate without a second monitor because the blinking prevents you from selecting icons on the desktop to navigate to where you need to go. I also experienced a few occasions where the spacebar stopped working as I was writing. Kinda need the spacebar. Also experienced audio crackling on zoom calls as well as when working and listening to music. The audio completely went out at least twice and I am still not sure why - just restarted several times and then it somehow restored itself. I did the HP diagnostics but you are never sure if that solves the issues. The biggest issue happened last week - I contacted Asurion for support to troubleshoot when at startup the screen went black. I tried everything I could as well as restarting and troubleshooting with YouTube videos. Asurion, was able to help me establish a restore point and that helped for about a week and then the screen blinking continued again, too. I contacted Asurion again only for them to offer that troubleshooting was not worth it and that I should contact Amazon for a refund since this is a brand new computer.
