Hot Cams 7.48mm Complete Shim Kit HCSHIM01 for Honda CRF Kawasaki KX Suzuki RMZ Yamaha WR YZ Dirt Bikes

Only a few small complaints at the moment. First, when I received the set, most of the shims were out of their proper slots and mixed up with different sizes. This is probably happened with the shipping and handeling of the set, but I just feel the case should be made a little better to make sure all shims stay in their proper slots. Second, some of the shims were stuck together and there was rust starting to build up. Third, it only comes with 3 shims for each size. Wish it came with 5 of each, or at least 4. This can be an problem if you have 4 cylinder 16 valve engine, and you need more than 3 of one size. I reorganized all the shims and placed them in their proper slots. As for the rust, it seems really light and can probably be wiped clean with some oil. If not, some oil and scotch bright will take care of the light rust for sure. Other than these small complaints the set was complete. it even came with an eye loop, that I wasn’t aware of, to help read the size marked on each shim. I have not measured the shims to test the accuracy, but I will do so once I get to adjusting my valves, and will update my review accordingly.

FYI, these shims are NOT made in Taiwan. It says right on the case Made in India. There is a difference, maybe also in quality. The rest of the description appears accurate.

The labels on each of the shims are not clear. Have to use a caliper to see the actual size of each shim.

Perfect fit for my 2012 Ninja 650. Make sure to buy a torque wrench, some feeler gauges, and a micrometer when doing this valve job.

Has every shim you could possibly need. Seems awfully wasteful though because I only ended up using two. Hopefully I can share some with some other dirt bike owners.

Really nice set. Wish there was more of each shim. But if youre creative with math you can get the job done. Mind you I only had 16 valves to shim. And 8 of each tolerance

Kit had all the shims I needed to shim the valves in my 2006 Yamaha FZ1. Have put several thousand miles on it since I shimmed the valves and its definitely running smoother/stronger. The shims are all labeled by laser printing which helps a ton, and I measured quite a few of them to be sure they were accurate, and they are.

Only problem i found was some shims were rusted very minor. Shims were marked as 3.00mm as example but with calipers I measured them as 2.97mm. Not a big deal for me but if you need the exact 3.00mm to make your clearance perfect you may have trouble. Very good overall experience! A++

Ill never order from any other shim company. Exact measurements and my bike runs great now. Definitely recomend to others. Even come with a mini magnafying glass for people with troubled vision!

Comes exactly as described and pictured. Well packaged, clearly marked shims, accurate to measurements. Yet to complete the valve adjustment but the shims are what they say they are. Only needed 16 pieces but due to the variety of sizes required more is better, which makes it slightly expensive but quality costs more I guess. No harm having extra for next time (which could be 50,000km away). Happy camper overall.
