Does require reasonable upload speed in order for picture quality to be good (say 5MB+ or so). If you or the other user has DSL, picture quality will be bad.

I have a podcast show and it would be a great add to be able to use restream and/or streamyard. Portal plus does not show popup to grant access to camera and microphone. If Facebook Portal plus update their browser to be able to use restream and/or streamyard that would be amazing. I havent used Alexa yet and the touchscreen is a little slow to respond.

This has been hands down the best purchase in 2020. My grandmother (96) fell and was moved into a nursing home. Due to Covid restrictions we were not able to visit. Calling her on the phone was difficult, she could not hear us well and was confused easily. I ordered the portal + to stay connected. It was the most amazing feeling to actually see her and talk to her! We had a long conversation and I could literally see her face light up. We have FaceTimed everyday since! She has been able to talk to both of her sons and each grandchild and great grandkids. The touch screen set up made it so easy for her to call me and for her to use. The nurse told me that she used it so often she was “going to wear it out”. I am forever grateful for the portal +. It has been a blessing.

This product is excellent. We purchased it for an elderly family member at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and it has helped her to feel included in family get togethers. The speaking features make it so she does not have to type on it, which is perfect for those with limited eye sight. It is very large, and the rotating feature makes it easy for people all of levels of technological knowledge. Excellent product

So i use Facebook messenger and whats up app a lot(daily) so this is an amazing devise for me. It is so cool, it moves when you move (moderate speed, so dont run) and it zooms in and out (for example if you were in a room talking and someone else comes in it zooms out to catch that person and vise versa when that person leaves it zooms back in on you). Also if there is a sound in the background it concentrates on your voice so the person on the other line does not get distracted. Also on messenger you can tell stories (kids stories). Now for Alexa app, its good but not perfect let me explain more so it does pull up recipes and turns on and off the lights but it doesnt save the recipe like the other Alexa apps and it doesnt show you the feed to your cameras but other than that its great and very useful to not have you holding your phone all the time and can multi task while youre chatting... i love it. My advice to you if you dont use the messenger and whats up apps regularly it wouldnt be useful to you. Hope this review helps your decision.

I just got the device. Made a few calls, call quality is great! Camera follow is OK but not great (doesnt follow fast enough, or becomes pixelated for a couple of seconds). The worse part is everything else, which is a bummer since the device is huge ad expensive, so I was planning for it to replace my Amazon Echo as well. Main issues: * Audio quality is not that good on high range, and the sub range is much better and stronger, so it feels uneven. * AI is super week. If its the Superframes (screensaver) algorithm of choosing my Facebook pictures, or the quality of the assistant, even lower than the stock Alexa. I hope all this gets better in time. * Lack of applications. Besides Spotify and Facebook watch there isnt anything much there. So bottom line, I with I would have bought the smaller set and use the device to just phone calls.

This system has already broken twice. Yes portal customer service replaced it, but same thing keeps on happening. The frame picture feature is worthless, no matter how many pictures you upload it always shows the same ones. I wish I would have realized before I purchased it. Tons of people complaining of the same problem all over the internet. On spotify there is no option to write down the song or artist you are looking for which makes it super inconvenient.

I use this hands free in my kitchen while I’m cooking. I love the speaker on this Portal and this a very solid piece of equipment. Love the “zoom” feature and how it “pans” the room as you move about in the room. If I want to play my Pandora music the speaker is great!! If I want to engage Alexa it’s all there!

I love the way the camera follows you around. I bought one for my daughter also, and she can carry on a conversation while preparing her dinner. Its almost like being in the same room with her. The picture quality is great. I also like that I can have it show me the news if I miss it on television.

At the time, it was a good low price. Unit does have some bugs in it. Need to reboot at times. It does alot of stuff more than when it first came out which is good! I think further upgrades are no longer since this 1st generation is now discontinued. Good picture quality and size. I like the option for portrait and landscape viewing.
