I just got the device. Made a few calls, call quality is great! Camera follow is OK but not great (doesnt follow fast enough, or becomes pixelated for a couple of seconds). The worse part is everything else, which is a bummer since the device is huge ad expensive, so I was planning for it to replace my Amazon Echo as well. Main issues: * Audio quality is not that good on high range, and the sub range is much better and stronger, so it feels uneven. * AI is super week. If its the Superframes (screensaver) algorithm of choosing my Facebook pictures, or the quality of the assistant, even lower than the stock Alexa. I hope all this gets better in time. * Lack of applications. Besides Spotify and Facebook watch there isnt anything much there. So bottom line, I with I would have bought the smaller set and use the device to just phone calls.

My grandbabies moved out of state and I got 2 of these to keep the connection. We call each other all the time and its so easy to play games. We even get Alexa in on the fun, my grandkids will tell Alexa to play a song and we all just dance all around the house and just like its suppose to the Portal follows us. Sometimes we have to be sneaky when were trying to play hide and seek so Portal doesnt follow us and give up or location before the other peeson is done counting. If you need to stay connected this is an amazing option.

I liked it but my 4 year old son couldnt operate it by himself and I bought it for him so he could try to video chat with me so I would give it five stars but him not so much I think its more for adults they said there is Facebook games on there but it didnt really have that and theres no YouTube kids so he can watch anything on YouTube and I dont like that I think its a great product but I think it could use some updates or improvements

My two sons and their in-laws all have one, so we got one for Christmas. We put it on a shelf in a bookcase facing the big couch in our family room. What a simple, wonderful way to see, hear and visit with family ... especially grandkids ... more often! And so simple to use ... Just touch the image of the person you wish to see and chat with, or just tell Alexa to call so-and-so! Fantastic picture and sound quality. And the camera follows you if you need to move around the toom. Theres more ... you csn load it with family photos. This is truly a must hav ed item! We love it!

So i use Facebook messenger and whats up app a lot(daily) so this is an amazing devise for me. It is so cool, it moves when you move (moderate speed, so dont run) and it zooms in and out (for example if you were in a room talking and someone else comes in it zooms out to catch that person and vise versa when that person leaves it zooms back in on you). Also if there is a sound in the background it concentrates on your voice so the person on the other line does not get distracted. Also on messenger you can tell stories (kids stories). Now for Alexa app, its good but not perfect let me explain more so it does pull up recipes and turns on and off the lights but it doesnt save the recipe like the other Alexa apps and it doesnt show you the feed to your cameras but other than that its great and very useful to not have you holding your phone all the time and can multi task while youre chatting... i love it. My advice to you if you dont use the messenger and whats up apps regularly it wouldnt be useful to you. Hope this review helps your decision.

Cannot make calls to a computer without installing messenger first, unlike current way where you can without issues, also, even after installing it, they will keep getting the call on their phone instead of the computer. Also called to a tablet, and seems rotation wasnt working, tried multiple times and kept having issues, returning it, seems a great idea, but far from mature :( Added a picture of how it looks on a tablet. Update: I kept it and bought one for my mom, seems thats gonna be the only way to check how it works when you call portal to portal, seems calling a phone or a tablet is not the ideal way to use this, I was hoping it would just call any other messenger no matter where it was installed (PC/tablet) without issues, so far not that good, not ideal to buy a portal to each one of the people I wanna talk to, but at least will try it, I was expecting something better than Skype, but not so far. I like the video and sound of the device, not that many apps so far, but as I saw it advertised, I think it is more focused to be a video chat approach like Skype, will try with 2 portals and see how it works.

I train people to use software and equipment. The portal has really made my job so much easier. The connection is much more reliable than other products and software I have used. The sound quality is great, the video quality is great, the ability to redirect the camera and zoom using gestures is really nice.

I like being a hands free device, I like when it chases me around the area and I like the crisp screen. I dislike that sometimes have to shout Hey Portal to be heard and I dislike when it gets lost in some rare occasions. Overall, I like it and I wish it keeps evolving.

Moved to another city and being separate from my girlfriend recently. This device just makes it much easier for us to stay connected and feel being together with the high-quality camera and sound. The camera can be covered up when I am not using it. So I dont concern much about the privacy issue. It would be a great present for your remote friends, family, and lover.
