> 24 hourVisually nice on the countertop. Sound is decent. Picture quality is good. Really can’t do too much with it other than use the apps loaded (or go to the web and pull up from there, sometimes). Mine is very glitchy with getting CBS News to come on. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t … just hangs on a blank, dark screen. Glad that when I did decide to give this a try, I bought it when it dropped to $99 briefly back in September. Definitely not worth more than $100, if that. I’d rather go with another Amazon Show 10 (or wait for the new Show that’s due out soon).

> 24 hourI purchased this portal about a year ago to go live to facebook, I used it a few times and it was great. Recently, I went to do a live from it and they have removed the feature. If youre strictly using this for video chats, it is great. That was not what I purchased it for so now I have a facebook portal that does not work for what I purchased it for. Shame on the maker for removing apps that people specifically purchased this device for.

> 24 hourFirst off, it deserves more stars if ALL you need is to call (whatsApp) another person. Kids or parents. If you are looking for a device for your home office - stay away. Pros: - looks great. Good quality screen (rotates) and a camera - connects to Bluetooth devices (e.g. keyboard, mouse, etc.) - easy to use Cons: - no 3rd party voice or video calls supported. No jabber, no Alexa calls, no skype, no sip, no google. Nothing. - device recognized by a phone as a bluetooth speaker. You cant use it as a speakerphone with you cell. - you cant call a regular phone number (even with a fee). - it doesnt support Webex meetings. Helpdesk says that theyre working on it, but no ETA. Webex (via website) does not recognize microphone / speaker, or camera. No MS Teams support, no google meet. - do you want to use it as a photo frame? Only with your facebook photos. - very few applications. 10? Useful? 2-3 max. - no email client, no calendar. Yes, you can open outlook 365 or gmail in a web browser but this is not the case. - Alexa on this device is handicapped. Most of commonly used functions not supported. - Although it is an android device, you cannot install apps from the play store. Actually you can - but you cant access them after the installation. This is the first time I decided to return an electronic device. I am done with it 3 hours after unboxing. Ugh.

> 24 hourIt’s amazing, but sucks that it has to stay plugged in! Would make such a difference if it was a little more portable. The zooming & tracking technology is an awesome addition to video chatting

> 24 hourMy son got one to be able to talk to his dad and stepmother who live states away. Surprisingly bigger than expected and quite pleased with the quality and clarity. Only reason I did 4 stars was because it doesnt allow photos, it said personal photos are not supported on this device

> 24 hourMoved to another city and being separate from my girlfriend recently. This device just makes it much easier for us to stay connected and feel being together with the high-quality camera and sound. The camera can be covered up when I am not using it. So I dont concern much about the privacy issue. It would be a great present for your remote friends, family, and lover.

> 24 hourWas not what was advertised. It was supposed to be new and it came in a plastic bag with no power cord or anything else.

> 24 hourI have Echo, Google, and Portal Smart displays, several of each, and, for photos, the Portals are the best. The other features are ok on the Portal but not as refined as Echo or Google. I was quite surprised with the sound quality of the Portals. Very happy with the Portal Plus.

> 24 hourI bought this for my grandfather just as coronavirus started to become a real concern. I wanted him to be able to video chat with the family when we werent able to visit him. Unfortunately, his retirement community went on lockdown before I could deliver it. So until I can get it to him, we are using it in our home. I have a 5year old and a 16 month old. Video chatting with them via phone is hard for the people on the other end of the screen. They are ALL OVER THE PLACE and hard to follow. The portal has a nice wide field of vision that keeps them in frame most of the time However the BEST feature is the automatic face detection and camera tracking. It follows the girls all over our living room, keeping them in frame so their grandparents can always see them. It isnt 100% perfect, but it is a huge improvement over not having ng this feature and just trying to follow them with the phone. Surprised - I thought this was a pointless product, but now that I have one, it is the only way I want to video call Fwiw, the Alexa and FB assistant I tegratio s are nice, and the speakers are quite good quality (and powerful). We listen to Pandora, Amazon music, and lots more on here daily. I will probably buy one of these to replace it once I give this one to my grandfather. There are really great for connecting with family.

> 24 hourWorks really well for chatting with parents and friends that are far away (esp. during a pandemic it turns out). Auto tracking works well, audio is good during video chats. Using it for listening to music is adequate. Definitely wouldnt consider sound quality for music amazing but is pretty good.
