To adjust how a door sits in the frame during initial installation is easy -- just shim the frame. But after the trim has been on for a few years, the house shifts a little or the door shrinks a little, and it needs to be adjusted again. Removing and replacing the trim is a PITA. These accomplish that adjustment without having to take off the trim.

These are very useful around the house. Adjusted four doors with these including one with 3 1/2 hinges with a little cutting. The before and after using these makes these doors operate like a very skilled doorman would have installed doors when new. Easy to install.

I used them to level my door on an outbuilding.

Due to some settling my exterior door was no longer plumb and difficult to lock. I used one of these to bump out the bottom hinge a bit and it now closes and locks perfectly.

Still didn’t fix my door issues. Finally hired a professional and they took these out and just hammered in wooden shims to fix it.

Im afraid these didnt do the job for me. They seem to be a bit too flimsy and crushed under the weight of the door rather than moving it outward like I had wanted. We ended up replacing the whole door and frame, so I never tried them again after than. Might work for a small gap, but mine was too large for these to fix it.

I had a door that was sagging slightly. I checked the screws and they were tight. I considered using the trick of bending the hinges, but this is an outdoor door with thick 4 hinges. I came across the E-Z Shims while looking for solutions and decided to give them a try. They arrived quickly. I just loosened the screws to the bottom and middle hinge. I started with the bottom hinge and added 3 shims, or 3/16. I then added two shims in the middle hinge. They slid right in place. I then tightened the screws and there was no more sag and the door shut properly! It took all of 20 minutes and a very small investment to solve my problem!

Worked like a charm on my front steel door. The house is settling so lower hinges had to be shimmed rather than resetting the striker plate.
