> 3 dayWorked like a charm on my front steel door. The house is settling so lower hinges had to be shimmed rather than resetting the striker plate.

> 3 dayWe just had double doors installed in our home, a complete rebuild including the frame. When the installation crew left, we noticed that the new doors didnt close properly. So a bit of research, brought us to the need for hinge shims. The E-Z shims were the perfect solution to make the minor corrections needed. At 1/16 thickness, they can be combined if needed. Very easy to install, and a value for the money spent. Couldnt find this product locally, but Amazon had them . Quick shipping too. These are made of a pvc material, but should last a lifetime.

> 3 dayHad the front door to beach cottage changed. The door had un-even gaps (closer to frame on right side but large gaps on top left and left side). The door would not shut without engaging the deadbolt by force. The installer said that it was normal after over $500 install charge. Placing two of this shims by loosening hinges on right bottom and one in middle hinge fixed the issue

> 3 dayI fixed a wonky billion years old door in minutes. They can also be stacked for extra wide gaps. I used 2 on the center hinge and worked beautifully.

13-11-2024I replaced the hinges on one of our doors (wife wanted bronze instead of brushed nickle hardware), but found that after I replaced the old hinges the door was about a 1/4 gap on the latch side, and no gap on the hinge side. This left a bit of an air gap and also made the door not close well. These shims were a great solution, since they are 1/16 thick I installed two of them under each hinge attached to the frame to shift the door to the latch side 1/8. Now there is an even 1/8 gap on both sides as shown in the image (I meant to take a before image too, but it slipped my mind, sorry!). Another option is to use cardboard, but its difficult to measure how much a cardboard shim will actually shift the door. And they may not hold up as well over time. These are much better, and they are the perfect shape which makes them easy to install: Just loosen up the hinge hardware, and slide the shim in (if necessary poke it to the required depth using something really thin like a razor or another shim). Then re-tighten the hardware and youre all set! I recommend making sure you have long enough screws in whatever place you install these shims. A lot of hinges come with short screws, but you really want to have ~3 screws going into your door frame so that they are able to grab the actual frame of the door and not just the trim (and make sure to pre-drill too, so you dont split the wood). This will make the door much more sturdy and harder to kick-in as well.

Greater than one weekThe design of the product made it simple to insert the shim without removing the hinge.
