> 3 dayPut one of these in a brand new laptop. Instant cure for whatever was going on. Mechanical HD the laptop came with was a dog from day one. It was slow, it couldnt multitask.....to the point I hated my new laptop. Decided to do something different. Chose the Crucial 1TB SSD based on price and reviews. It wasnt the most expensive, yet still had great reviews. It was even rated the best on some obscure review sites on the webs. The cloning process was easy, just a few clicks of next and a proceed. Once it told me it was done, I did the physical swap, and couldnt believe how fast it is. The boot up was literally a few seconds. Multitasking.....not a problem. It can run a background virus scan, download updates, and still surf the webs...all at the same time, unlike the original HD. Personally I think something was wrong with it, but who cares now?

> 3 dayI got this as a replacement hard drive for my new laptop, because it only came with 128gb, which just isnt enough, and it was really easy to clone the old hard drive onto this one and swap them around. The only problem I have now is that I have no idea how to reallocate the unused data on this to the C drive (I know, I should have figured that out before install) but I cant blame the hard drive for my incompetence. Its a good hard drive, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their ssd storage or to build their own pc.

> 3 dayHad problems with install. Ithnk Ifailed to use the software correctly, which is a bit criptique. I went back and read them again. I was getting missing OS file problems. I ran the process again to install it. I then enlarged the drive by adding the blank portion. A buncho crap! Be experienced if you are going to install this. I have a ton and I messed it up. I have installed a dozen drives on a dozen different computers using various software. I did get a new hardware rig which is speedier. If you get faults or failures, it could mean your hardware transfer USB to sata is not quite right. Done! Working!

> 3 dayThe Crucial website support website provides a link for free software to clone the drive - if you use it be prepared to be frustrated as it is is not intuitive and when or if you finally get it to run be unsurprised when the cloned drive does not boot two attempts and about 8 hours wasted when it failed to apply a boot partition . Instead use the free version of Macrium Reflect which works perfectly.
