Brought an old Compaq CQ60 laptop back to life. Had a 250 gb mechanical HDD. Swapped it out with the Crucial MX500 SSD and fresh install of Win 10 Pro. and what a difference. Would recommend doing if you can. Do some research first.

My laptop SSD drive failed and everything was lost. I installed this drive to backup real-time. So far, so good.

Fits perfectly, and was recognized, into a gen1 PS4. Setup on the console was a breeze & seems to have improved responsiveness after being in place for ~24hrs.

As a retired Computer Tech - 23 years worth - I had/have come to rely on the top notch quality and reliability of Crucial products. Honestly I dont ever remember having a failure of a Crucial product. When I needed a hard drive for this old laptop, I knew just where to turn. The difference in speed from the old slow spinner is remarkable.

I cloned a smaller drive 512gb drive onto the 2TB, and wow did it open things up for my storage needs. Programs need not be cramped anymore!

I bought this Crucial MX500 SSD (1TB) to replace an old Hitachi Ultrastar 1TB (7200 rpm) in an all-in-one pc (six+ years old). This version of Crucial MX500 SSD does not come with cloning software. I downloaded Acronis True Image for Crucial software from Crucial SSD Support page. The cloning process (for about 700 GB data) took 7+ hours to complete because my old PC only has USB 2 ports. The cloning was a success on my first try. After replacing the hard disk, the computer started quickly and all existing software worked as expected. The computer speed for daily tasks is noticeably faster. So I could use this PC for at least two+ more years with satisfying speed.
