carefresh 99% Dust Free White Natural Paper Small Pet Bedding with Odor Control, 50 L

This was my second purchase of this bedding and I’ve come to to conclusion that my piggy’s (baby females that are 5 months old) are allergic to it. I normally buy the Carefresh paper bedding from Pertamart and the only difference is it is the “colored creations” line which is double the price. I ran across this bedding on Amazon (same maker just not colored and half the price, (so I thought it would be ideally the same things @ a cheaper price). As the saying goes “you get what you pay for!” My piggy’s started sneezing like crazy and I had to take them to the Vet and administer antibiotics for an “upper respiratory infection.” Luckily it was a mild one and the Vet said it was caught in time. Initially it was only one piggy that was sneezing but now both of them are sneezing like CRAZY and I determined it had to be the bedding because nothing else has changed. They have been on antibiotics for weeks now and I went back to Petsmart to get the original bedding that I’ve been buying and I’m monitoring them to see if the sneezing continues. This bedding is VERY dusty with lots of particles in it despite the 99% “dust free” label on the bag. I’m not risking it to save a few dollars so I wouldn’t personally get this for any small animal it is also a little rough and not soft. Disappointed because this is the same brand I always buy but this style is a bust! It had so many particles flying around when I opened the bad and it was so clumped together it was RIDICULOUS! Save yourself an expensive trip to the Vet and bypass this bedding for your own good and the health of your animals it’s not worth saving a few pennies.

Sometimes the smell of this bedding is a little weird. I have gotten it a few times and this time it was ok, but before it had a weird odor. I will keep buying it because it was an off chance and its a great deal for the money.

I have always used this bedding for my hamster. It works well, and keeps the cage from smelling bad, but there is a lot of dust that collects at the bottom of the cage by the time you clean it out. I wish there was less (or no) dust, but its still the best bedding Ive found.

I cannot describe how awful this product is. Within seconds of opening the package, a very strong smell of feces hits you. Did not even try to take any out, it was immediately resealed and returned. Not sure if this is the norm with this item but given how bad my first experience with it was, Im definitely not giving it another try.

We started using this on recommendation from our local pet store. Purchased on Amazon when the local store went out of stock on the big bags. Good deal for the money, helps our hammys stay fresh and clean. Pretty much going to be sticking with this product from now on.

People! Pine bedding is bad for rabbits! use this bedding instead! I have one medium sized albino bunny, this bedding is very absorbent and keeps the odor to a minimum as long as I change it every week.
