Greater than one weekThis is a huge upgrade compare to my 16 year old 720p projector dont get me wrong 16 years and still working, if i get 16 years from this benq ht3550 Ill be impressed even more,,picture is awesome, firmware update easy to do, installation a little tricky because it takes some measurements if you already have a screen build into wall,,only issue was an old bluray movie upgraded to 4k did not look so great,,Im only reviewing for my experience on 1 week of use,,the 4 stars can go up or down in a few months Ill update. Update 4/12/20,,, Its been more than a month now and i really love this projector even though is not a native 4k projector the pixel shifting technology is awesome. Update 8/25/20,, For now no issues with Benq ht3550, Im still very happy with purchase, i do have a switch that controls the outlet,,,i turn power of completely after fans cools down projector, switch is high up on waĺl with a safety cover to avoid accidents. Update 4/21/21. Im still enjoying my benq ht3550 but the shortage of good movies is driving me crazy,,, i did had a glitch with projector while i was playing with settings back and forth between Google chromecast tv and nvidia shield tv, the screen turn blue and had to turn off wait a while and turn back on and seem fine again. Update 2/9/22 I been really happy with this projector ,its been 2 years now and knock on wood it still shows a beautiful picture i really enjoy movie weekend... Update 10/02/22 Still enjoying BenQ ht3550 its been a good experience since purchased in 2020.

> 3 dayThe projector works, but everyone has to listen to the fan noise through the movies we are watching. Seriously, we can hear it loudly even though our movies are loud enough to echo through the house. Secondly it takes forever to boot. Now we try to schedule for it. We come up stairs start the projector about five min before we want to watch anything. Our plan was to upgrade to a 4k projector, however the sound annoyance is so bad, its a toss up if we go back to our previous projector. I wouldnt buy it again.

> 3 daySDR quality is good, and HDR without the Wide Color Gamut filter is engaged looks very good...However, when the WCG filter is engaged, it adds a distinctly blue/green tint to the image. It doesnt just reduce brightness as I have read about. Wish I could watch in DCI-P3 HDR mode, but it just doesnt look good at all. Also, when I have a white on black image on the screen, say the white text on the Eco Blank screen, or white movie credits on black background there is a significant blue/purple shadow around the text. This is only noticeable up close, not really at normal viewing distance. Looks to me like chromatic aberration from the lens. Is this normal for this model? Finally, in 4k 24fps mode, there is a loud, annoying rattle. Maybe a fan, but I think its part of the pixel shifting mechanism...its quite loud. Maybe 2-3x louder than the fan, even on Normal lamp mode. The rattle does not occur in 30 or 60 fps modes..only in 4k/24. I really wanted to leave a 5-star review for this projector, since I decided to upgrade to this unit from the Optoma UHD50 that I was going to buy, but with the issues Im having, I just cant...I tried emailing BenQ tech support, but have not heard back from them in several weeks, and have tried calling their tech support phone number for several days now but cant get through, so not impressed with their customer service either at this point either... I havent decided whether Im keeping this projector or not yet. It has all of the features I want, and looks pretty amazing in SDR mode, so Im really hoping BenQ gets back to me soon and makes this right, so I can get the full benefit out of it. Maybe their Customer Service team monitors Amazon reviews more than they check their email or answer their phones...

> 3 dayWe were so excited to have a family movie night. The projector does an amazing job. Then it wouldnt stay on. Kept shutting off. Flashing temp? Its Oregon and september so we have 55 degree nights and its not remotely hot. Tech support was helpful but pointless. Telling me to try this and that. Nothing worked. Im hoping we just got a lemon. Im returning it and if the next one does well Ill change my review.

> 3 dayThings great. Just make sure you center it on the screen prior to screwing anything down .

> 3 dayUPDATE***** Old review below. The projector made it just about 3 years of use and 1400 hours, now HDMI ports totally dead. It will not run a long 4k HDMI cable. Wont work. The her setting is so white washed its useless, unless you are able to figure how to set it properly. Non hdr it works great. Has an auto sense for projector fitment. Have never touched the focus and non hdr colors look very good.

> 3 dayUsing for an outside projection screen on rear deck. Any ambient daylight really makes the projector unusable in this application. Total darkness required.

> 3 dayGreat projector with a sharp picture even for a lit room but save your money with the junk android tv. I wish I wouldn’t have purchased the android tv version and just bought a nice streaming device instead. It lags, buffers, crashes, and doesn’t supports Netflix even when trying to cast.
