> 3 dayMy 2 year old son (hearing) knows over 200 signs and any signing video is his favorite. While this one is enjoyable to watch and listen to, I think it is geared more for birth to 12 months, rather than 1 1/2 years +. It is a good first exposure to sign language so I would want my child to see it earlier than 18 months if you want to utilize signs before they can talk. The typical Baby Einstein music and characters would definitely catch the attention of littler ones; my two year old is not so easily interested in that anymore. If I really wanted a child over a year old to learn sign, I would not waste time or money with this one. I would go straight to the Signing Time series, buy them all and pre-order the new ones--they are worth every penny!

> 3 dayI purchased this when my son was approximately 10 months. He watched it a few times. I tried it again after he was 1 years old and he still didnt show any interest. I tried another one to see if I would get the same results and he still was not interested.

> 3 dayI am a HUGE fan of Baby Einstein. My son loves them all. He is 2 and a half, and still watches them. I love them also, because they are so nice on the ears. I cant STAND the background noise of most kids shows. Especially over and over and over!! But Baby Einstein is pleasant and nice to watch. BUT Baby Wordsworth is stupid and not worth 1.00 at a garage sale. We have not even made it through the whole thing one single time. My son wont sit still for even 5 minutes of it. Save your money. If you want something to help you with vocabulary, we LOVE Baby Babble. Its a must! My son learned several words from it.

Greater than one weekI ordered several dvds at the same time and this one arrived two weeks later than the rest. My toddler loves this show, but seems to get tired of it quicker than he does some of the other baby einstein dvds.

> 3 dayIf youre going to buy a childrens video, this a great video for toddlers. I recommend it over other kids videos because it is fun, not too fast-paced or cartoon animated, and the puppets are really cute. My kids liked it. Having said that, I have a beef with the title Baby Einstein and marketing this to BABIES. It seems to imply that watching these videos is good for babies, which they are NOT! These videos may be great for older kids, but definitely not for babies brains. After some research I found out that: 1) brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. 2) for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%, 3) for every hour of television viewed daily at 4 yrs old, there is a significant odds increase for being a bully later on, and 4)consistent, heavy television viewing (more than 2 hrs daily) throughout early childhood can cause behavior, sleep and attention problems. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television for children under 2, and no more than two hours of media (tv, videos, video games & computers) daily after age 2! I think its important for parents and caregivers to be aware of this so they can make better informed choices. I hope it encourages some people to limit television usage for babies and look for other outlets when possible. For those looking to calm babies and build better brains, I recommend baby carriers because studies show that infants who are carried an extra 3 hours per day cry 40% less, and this effect is lasting over time! Frequently held babies pick up verbal skills faster and develop better core muscle strength and balance. Also, learning to communicate in sign language can reduce frustration and tantrums, accelerate language development and promote parent-child bonding in infants and toddlers.

Greater than one weekI am very disappointed in this video. My 16-month daughter seems to like to like it somewhat, but it doesnt hold her interest like the other Einstein videos, with the exception of the sign language part. I have instructed my daughter in American Sign Language so that is why she is interested. However, do not be mistaken in thinking that this is American Sign Language. Where as some signs are, others ARE NOT AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE. This is very disappointing to me. I want her to learn proper sign language so she will be able to use it in the future if need be. What is the purpose in learning a made up language???? In addition, they only show the sign once before going on to something else. If you really want a good video that teaches sign language to infants/toddlers, I recommend BABY SEE N SIGN. This is an excellent video and my daughter picks this video out to watch more than any other video she has.

> 3 dayMy son was speech delayed, but could pick up sign language very quickly. He learned every word on this dvd within a few weeks of watching, and we were communicating. He loved it! We didnt start watching until he was around 17 months, though; I am not sure how appropriate they are for very young babies. For my son, they served a great purpose.

> 3 dayThis is definately worth the time and money to invest for your child. What a learning experience in teaching tool. Get it! You wont regret it. Your child will love it. I use this in my daycare too and all my children are well beyond their age appropriate learning capacity. Any B.E. video is well worth it!

> 3 dayI bought this DVD for my granddaughter (10 months). My son tells me she is fascinated and he loves it because it gives him 15 minutes to read the paper, have a cup of coffee----- She sits in her activity walker and focuses.
