Baby Einstein - Baby Monet - Discovering the Seasons

> 3 dayMy son really loves this movie. We have 7 of them and this is the best. The zebra puppets are so cute. The seasons are clearly defined and each season is assigned its own zebra puppet colored to match the season. (For example, Fall is orange with deep, royal purple stripes) The puppet shows in this one are really cute and humorous. My son is 7 months and laughs out loud at some of them. I think the imagery is great. It does capture my sons attention. This one is a little different than the other ones, but it is well done. They go through all of the seasons, there is a little intro where they introduce the season and the seasons puppet mascot. THen they go into the imagery similar to the other movies. There is a puppet show and then they go to the next season. At the end, there is a seasonal montage featuring the puppets and my son really loves that. There is an upbeat musical number and the puppets dance around so my son tries to wiggle around with the puppets. The music is great. An obvious choice of course, but they matched the tempo of the music to the images well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it doesnt have enough Monet paintings to be called baby monet. I had to go back and watch it again because I didnt notice it enough. Once you go back through it, you notice it, but there really isnt that much. I get that is says Monet- seasons, but the Van Gogh-colors relies heavily on the Van Gogh paintings to get the point across. Not so much with this one. So if you want to teach your kid about Claude Monet, I wouldnt go for this as an aid; but it is a fabulous learn the seasons DVD.

> 3 dayMy son is 7 months old and has loved this DVD since day one! He loves the zebras and will start laughing when they come on every single time we watch it. I dont know what the pop music reference is about... I didnt notice any pop music. Its all Vivaldis Four Seasons isnt it?? This is our first Einstein DVD so if what everyone is saying is true, I cant wait to buy the others!!

> 3 day16 month old has every Baby Einstein DVD and really loves this one. The changing colors on the intro is good and the different languages always great. Probably close to his favorite with Baby Noah and World Animals not far behind.

> 3 dayI have almost all of Baby Einsteins dvds. I would say this one of the better ones BE has produced. Great puppetry (babys favorite parts), wonderful seasons scenery and other eye appealing imagery. My baby started watching Monet since 6 month of age and he loves it! Its a treat for me to watch him smile and see his eyes light up at his favorite parts. First Signs, MacDonald, Neptune, DaVinci are also pretty good. I only allow him to watch an hour a day. And the critics who say babies watching tv is no good, Id disagree. My 4 year old niece who watched BE since 2 weeks old is extremely bright and very talkative, using advanced vocabulary for her age. AND shes bilingual. Im not saying this result will happen with all babies but I certainly dont think it hurts them intellectually.

> 3 dayOkay, clearly this is not like the other videos like Van Gogh or Neptune. The scenes were pretty and the boys (2 year olds) love the waterfall and the tree that changes colors. Im not crazy about the video but they are constantly asking for the new baby einstein. The part that I hated most was the preview at the beginning of the video. I enjoyed the fact that I did not have to fast forward through a commercial to get to the other einstein videos. Is this a Disney change??? What really counts is that the boys like it and they are learning about the seasons when we watch it together.

> 3 dayI have the entire Baby Einstein collection and this is by FAR the best of the bunch. The other videos for this age group are sooooo boring, even my daughter doesnt want to watch them! However, she loves the beautiful music and nature scenes in Baby Monet. She laughs at the zebra puppets and smiles at the children. If youve even been freaked out by the Baby Bach video (lets face it....creepy!) this is a video you really should try! So much better than the rest!!!
