> 3 dayThis is my personal favorite of the Baby Einstein DVDs! The puppets are cute and extremely entertaining. Personally, I think there are plenty of Monet paintings. Theyve done a great job with balance in this title, between the paintings, scenery and puppet shows. This DVD caught my daughters attention since she was 5 months old. Shes now 8 months and still LOVES it. Shell laugh with the puppets and relax with the gorgeous scenery showcasing all the seasons. A definite MUST HAVE of the Baby Einstein collection!

13-11-2024I was so excited when I saw that Baby Einstein came out with a video titled after my favorite artist. Unfortunately, my daughter wasnt as enthusiastic. She first watched it when she was about nine months old and wasnt into it. I figured she was a little too young so I would wait and try again as she got older. Well, shes now 17 months and just the other day, she climbed off the couch about ten minutes into the DVD. Im keeping my fingers crossed that maybe shell eventually like this DVD because I enjoy it, but if not there are other Baby Einstein videos out there she does like.

> 3 dayMy 12 month old daughter LOVES all of the Baby Einstein videos, except this one. We have not gotten past the first two minutes of this one because, for some reason, she always starts to cry.

> 3 dayBaby Monet begins with a zebra puppet painting two muffins which turn into 2 huts of a Monet painting. It was kind of a long introduction. This has mostly live-action of things in nature, not as many toys as most Baby Einsteins videos; which is nice. So, for spring they show time-lapsed photography of plants and flowers, which was kind of neat. Honestly, I thought this video was boring. It was a bit longer then most Baby Einsteins videos. I dont think there was anything with holidays, which is good for those that dont celebrate the holidays (Babys First Imprssions Seasons had a lot of that). Maybe I just cant appreciate certain artists work but I really did not care at all for the Monet paintings in this video. Frankly I thought they were ugly and it makes me wonder how Monet got so famous.

> 3 dayWe have two Baby Einstein videos and my 23 month old loves them both. She likes the colors and puppets of this one - puppets who keep trying to dance around a maypole but it starts to rain, until finally they dress with rain gear; puppets who play in the sun but get burned, then put on sunscreen thick and foamy, then say baa baa. Its funny! I love the nature footage, especially the slow motion of rain drops. Since watching this video she also now loves to paint.

Greater than one weekMy 3 month old loves this DVD. It is perfect for keeping his attention for 20 mins while I get ready for the day. My only suggestion is that if you have a TV that is connected to the internet and you have prime, DONT BUY THIS! If you download the prim app you can stream this and many of the other Baby Einsteins for free. Wish I would have known that before I purchased this DVD.

> 3 dayIf youre going to buy a childrens video, by all means buy this video for your two year old and older child. I highly recommend it compared to other kids videos because it is engaging, fun, educational and not cartoon animated or fast-paced. Having said that, I have a beef with the title Baby Einstein and marketing this to BABIES. It seems to imply that watching these videos is good for babies, which they are NOT! These videos may be great for older kids, but definitely NOT for babies brains! After some research I found out that: 1) brain wave activity in babies is slower when watching television than when sleeping. 2) for every hour of television a baby watches a day, their chances of acquiring an attention deficit disorder increases by 10%, 3) for every hour of television viewed daily at 4 yrs old, there is a significant odds increase for being a bully later on, and 4)consistent, heavy television viewing (more than 2 hrs daily) throughout early childhood can cause behavior, sleep and attention problems. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no television for children under 2, and no more than two hours of media (tv, videos, video games & computers) daily after age 2! I think its important for parents and caregivers to be aware of this so they can make better informed choices. I hope it encourages some people to limit television usage for babies and look for other outlets when possible. For those looking to calm babies and build better brains, I recommend baby carriers because studies show that infants who are carried an extra 3 hours per day cry 40% less, and this effect is lasting over time! Frequently held babies pick up verbal skills faster and develop better core muscle strength and balance. Also, learning to communicate in sign language can reduce frustration and tantrums, accelerate language development and promote parent-child bonding in infants and toddlers.
