> 3 dayI currently have a 32 Samsung Curved FHD 240Hz panel for gaming. Wanted another one that is smaller and thought, what the heck, can always return to Amazon if this doesnt perform. Well, Im impressed 100%. The picture is actually better than my Samsung on COD Vanguard. FPS, smoothness and brightness are all fantastic. The panel is likely made by Samsung, not many make these actual panels in the World. Plus, the warranty is hard to pass up. It is just as good, if not better than my Samsung which was 2x the cost for 5 larger size. Buttery smooth action and does 240Hz. Just set the Hz and screen size in COD graphics settings, and my NVDIA 3080 just screams 200+fps. Really nice. Cant go wrong. If you arent used to a curve monitor, it takes awhile, since I already had one, no biggie. Plus, it doesnt seem 5 smaller in diagonal than my Samsung 32. Dont think you can go wrong with this thing honestly.

> 3 dayThis monitor has an excellent picture and is one of the most vibrant displays Ive ever purchased. However, its response time is slow and screen blur is almost unbearable. The monitor uses a VA panel that can bump out 4ms at minimum and I was looking for 1ms. So basically, this display would be really nice for editing photos or watching movies but i wouldnt recommend it for gaming. Especially not for competitive fps, as the response time is way worse than other products out there.

> 3 dayI LOVED this monitor and the depth of color. I thought I had finally found a great 2K gaming monitor...until I watched a video that had lots of black in it. The bleed is so bad I actually thought it was some effect on the screen. Did a backlight bleed test and it was ridiculously bad. I really did not want to send it back so I tried adjusting the brightness, the contrast, and every other setting I could find. Didnt change.

> 3 dayOverall a good monitor I was a bit disappointed because when clicking on the 240hz monitor on Amazon, the reviews below were mixed together with all variations of monitors sold by AOC. I read a comment that stated that works well with Xbox and Ps5 at 1440p but overlooked that it was for the 165hz monitor not the 240hz monitor before purchasing make sure you read the description above and look at specs don’t get confused with the 25k reviews they are for all variations of the monitors they sell COMBINED not the actual one monitor your looking at. Someone needs to fix this

> 3 dayI bought this monitor in late 2020 for $150, with many worries going through my head. I was worried that the colors would be too washed out, worried that the curve might be too much, worried about the quality of the product, worried about its acclaimed 1ms mprt, and worried if the monitor would come with any dead pixels. I got none of that. What i did get was a big smile across my face. This monitor was probably one of the best purchases and investments Ive made so far. The quality of the product is perfect for the price range its in, it certainly outdoes my Acer SB220Q. Speaking of which, the Acer monitor comes with an ips panel, i was scared that i wouldnt enjoy the VA panel the AOC would come with, but it turned out to be just fine for gaming, movies, and other media. I do frequently use photoshop so the Acers ips panel will still be utilized for that. As for the curve, the curve is just barely noticeable when youre directly in front of the monitor, which is perfect. As for the acclaimed 1ms, its 1ms mprt, but the actual response time is probably 4ms, which is perfectly fine and you shouldnt really worry about a 4ms response time holding you back at all. And as for the people who have received dead pixels on their AOCs, mine arrived with zero dead pixels as advertised, it most likely has to do with whether or not the monitor was damaged during shipping. So should you buy this monitor? If youre looking for a decent 1080p 144hz experience, and dont care about having the best response time in class (which you shouldnt care about in this price range), and do not require an ips panel, this works perfectly. It also runs flawlessly with GSYNC enabled, just be sure to use the included Display port cable and not the HDMI cable to actually utilize GSYNC and the 144hz.

31-10-2024This is a fantastic monitor for the price! And honestly, its competitive with monitors that cost double the price. People often overlook VA panels because VAs just have a general bad rap. I dont know where it comes from, but the stereotype that you need IPS is mostly false. IPS does have the best color accuracy, but unless your doing photo/video work that demands perfect colors, a VA will do great. The colors are vivid and accurate, and the viewing angles are good too. Unless youre gaming at a 70 degree angle from the front of your screen you will never have issues. Also, monitor preference is very subjective. While some people may prefer the faster technology of IPS (which can mean less ghosting), many others (myself included) care more about the superb contrast ratios provided by VA. For one, I have yet to encounter ghosting issues on my display. But also, this VA literally has a 4X better contrast ratio than the average IPS. I played on IPS for years and I always hated how every black color was just turned into a grayish blob. Now I can see different levels of darkness in full detail. Nighttime levels in games are playable and enjoyable now! So for half the price, you can get a 144hz 1440p monitor that rivals $500 dollar IPS options. Its a no-brainer. To top it off, the packaging is superb. When I opened it I was not concerned at all about potential damage. And it has zero dead pixels. The only con I have to mention concerns g-sync compatibility. This monitor is not on the official Nvidia list of compatible monitors. However, when you go into the Nvidia control panel to set it up, it indicates that the monitor is, in fact, compatible. The g-sync works well, and I was amazed by the buttery smooth feel I got even at frames well below 100. Now heres the downside. Apparently there is a strange but replicated bug when you have this monitor plus a 1000 series Nvidia gpu. IF and ONLY IF you turn on g-sync, and your frames drop under 100, the screen will randomly lose display for a second before coming back as normal. I found a reviewer that discussed this issue and they found it persisted across several of these monitors and when trying different cables. https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-cq27g2u-cq27g2/ It doesnt happen if you stay over 100 fps. It happens rarely (once per hour) between 100-80 fps. And it happens more frequently (once every 20-30 minutes) under 80 fps. The times are not consistent those are just my rough estimates based on usage. If you turn g-sync off this doesnt happen at all. Also, it has been reported that this issue doesnt appear of you have a 2000 series gpu. Honestly, I still leave it on most of the time, because Im willing to lose display for a second or two per hour in exchange for buttery smooth goodness the rest of the time. However it is disappointing that the issue exists at all.

> 3 dayOn the AOC website, they claim the CQ27G3S has a response time of 1ms MPRT and 4ms GtG. I didnt believe the 4ms gtg would be such a big hit on the monitors ability to control ghosting, but darker scenes have a lot more noticeable ghosting. I tested ghosting using ufo test, so not really gaming environment, but it gives an idea on how the monitor reacts to certain scenes. Bright scenes are quite tame with almost no ghosting, while the darkest scene has the most noticeable. Overdrive setting on strong seems to lessen the length of the trail. Its not unplayable and for a VA panel, I didnt expect much. 7/10 165hz refresh rate is very nice because it allows for more smoother gameplay. I switched from a 60hz 4k to a 165hz 2k and the difference is huge. The quality of the image is about the same unless youre staring right at a single pixel looking for it. The only problem with the refresh rate is that 165hz is unstable. The actual monitor refresh rate fluctuates between 165hz and 160hz. It doesnt affect performance, however, its still a bit misleading. It is most stable at 144hz and does just as good. If you needed exactly 165hz for some reason, this monitor is not the best. The pixel density is very high for a small screen so the images are really clear. Anything above 28 for a 1440p/2k monitor is going to be poor. Coming from 4k 28 to 2k 27 there isnt much difference in image quality. Especially if you upscale resolution in games, its basically the same picture. 8/10 The colors also needed some work to get it perfect. There are three ways to make the screen brighter: brightness, contrast, and rgb settings. If you raise all of the rgb equally, the brightness also increases. Too high of a contrast will raise brightness, but also make all of the colors look weird. Adjust to your own preference. There is little to no back bleed. Only the slightest grey patch in the upper right corner, but unless youre in a completely dark room with a black screen playing, its completely unnoticeable. 9/10 The OSD menu is poorly developed. Modifying certain menu items will modify other related items, understandably so, however, it doesnt revert back to default. Which means if you have a good set up and modify your settings to experiment, you will lose your previous set up. Maybe not that big of a deal, but a peeve of mine. I wish it doesnt save until you hit a separate button to save. For now, it gets the job done, but if I ever wanted to change something, I would lose all my previous settings which is very unfortunate. 7/10 Its 2k at 27, 144hz stable refresh, curved VA, and affordable with a 4 year warranty against any manufacturer defect(dont quote me). Very much a worthy buy. 8/10
