Greater than one weekThe laptop itself is sleek and stylish with a fairly decent light-up keyboard. I had to upgrade the ram in the laptop and change it away from a version of windows that can be changed to normal for free. (Look up a walk-thru on Youtube if you need help.)

> 3 dayI cant even imagine how this POS even left the factory, after QC, considering you have to login to your Microsoft account to even install any third party applications on it. Who in their right mind would only be installing MS applications only?!? I wish I could return it but I sat on it too long and now I cant. Maybe I will bury it in the backyard so it stops collecting data on me...Even worthless as a boat anchor.

31-10-2024I had this PC for about 2 months and it seems to have cooling issues. Even just web browsing can cause the fan to run. Task manager shows peaks of up to 100 percent cpu usage briefly when just opening a web site like cnn or fox news and then fan goes into overdrive. I used it at the end of the couch and thought i am blocking the bottom vents so i been using it on a cutting board so the bottom feet can make a gap to increase air flow but it has not helped. Cpu will get over 80 celsius at times all from just web browsing. This pc gets good reviews so maybe i got a bad one ? Barely has any cooling ducts from the slim design. I did install 16 gigs of DDR4 ram as well so thats not the problem. Opted out of S mode for regular windows aswell

> 3 dayBought this as a gift for a college student. Great value for a middle of the road computer.

> 3 dayI wrote a negative review (below) when I first bought this PC, citing its useless bloatware from Microsoft and its partners. I was also frustrated initially by slow page loads, until I realized that the PC was going through lengthy software updates. Since then (after removing the bloatware and getting past the updates), Ive had a very positive impression of this PC, liking its screen, its keyboard, and even its performance, which is acceptably fast (not super fast).

> 3 dayI bought 2 of these during covid, for kids to do remote school work. Both are still operational. I added a 16 gig stick to each one of these for a total of 20 GIGS. One of them, we broke the screen on and are using with an external monitor. The other I think the battery just died, ordered a replacement and well see how it goes. Otherwise these are really good laptops for under $400, still reasonably fast and very slim. I think that Acer makes one of the best products for the money and I would not hesitate to buy another. Solid product. Both by the way received a windows 11 upgrade, and have no trouble running win 11. I recommend the memory upgrade, with it this fast enough for general tasks and browsing.

> 3 dayUpgrade the RAM to get a 40-50 percent boost in graphics and a noticeable boost in general operation. I got 2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance 2400 (16gb) CMSX16GX4M2A2400C16 . No memory compatibility issues. Installed a second SSD and RAM in about 30min. THis laptop is a beast at this price. I cant recommend this thing enough. The IPS screen looks amazing and you wont find 1080p at this price with any other brand. The keyboard feels nice. I have yet to try gaming on it ... have a $3000 gaming desktop for that. Windows is snappy. Just make sure and disable Windows S or you will be stuck with their apps only. Im getting 410mbps down and 40mbps up on a gig wifi connection. $400 after RAM ... and it will compete with other laptops costing considerably more and its ACER .... whats not to like.
