Zoo Med Turtle Tuff Splashproof Halogen Lamp

These are splashproof but I seem to have to buy one every month because they quit working. Ive tried other kinds though & they seem to last close to the same amount of time or go out sooner. Pretty disappointing & expensive after awhile, but it seems to be the norm for them all. The price is better then other places though.

Long lasting bulbs, great for turtles. Not much can take my turtles abuse, but they havent broke one of these yet. They are like a standard halogen bulb but with protective glass to cover the bulb itself. Ive used several sizes through the years with the same great results. These last much longer than other non halogen bulbs Ive tried in the past.

This lasted me 11 months. Thats right, ELEVEN MONTHS. I was pouring through lights every month or so, and getting extremely frustrated. I read one review somewhere, probably not even for this bulb, that one guy left his light on 24/7 and it lasted forever. Guess what? IT WORKS. For real. Im not receiving any benefit in saying this. I was worried that my turtle would get sick from not having a dry dock that wasnt directly under a heat lamp, but shes thriving as always. JUST LEAVE THE LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME. I had it on a timer before, turned it off manually, whatever. On/off is what makes them burn out! UPDATE: This time my lamp lasted from September of last year to October of this year--14 months, people. Be careful installing it, dont over-tighten, and leave it the fetch alone (no turning on and off). Youll be glad you did.

Just bought my second 50W Repti Tuff bulb after my first bulb lasted nearly 2 years. Only reason i needed a new one was i dropped my first one and it blew. Update: The one i bought from this person only lasted 2 weeks and now a replacement is coming hopefully it lasts. Shipping is very slow and takes up to 2 weeks to arrive.

This works great! Fits into a normal light socket. Every time that I turn on the light my turtles move under the light. The light will have to be pretty close to provide ample heat. Works great, seems like it will last for quite a while. I have had mine since December (writing this on February 23rd). I do not use mine every day, so that could contribute to the length.

Excellent and gives off a lot of heat.
