At first we saw one ant in the food but that was it...No more ants in the car food for the strays we feed...

The bowl was covered in tiny ants did not work at all.

These things are amazing. I ordered two of them for my two dogs’ food bowls and nary an ant has found its way into the food since I received them a week ago. Before, their bowls were swarmed with ants constantly, and we threw out a lot of food since the dogs wouldn’t touch them with all the ants. I have no idea how these things work, but they do. They’re worth every penny.

I figured it was a gimmick but it does seem to work. I hadnt had a real chance to test it because I bought it at the same time I did a mass ant murder, so I couldnt tell if it was working or if I just didnt have ants again yet. I later found a bunch of ants on my balcony so I put a bowl of dog food out there on the tray to really test it. I saw an ant or two make it to the bowl, but a stream of ants never came. It seems like even if you have an ant that makes it, not enough are able to accomplish the feat to create the frenzy youd otherwise have. And this was after intentionally putting it around a bunch of nearby ants, so not a realistic household test. So after seeing that Ive kept the tray and continue to use it indoors. I still cant really believe it but Ive seen it work with my own eyes. Worth a try, especially when the alternative is building a moat or something thats going to be a lot messier than just setting the usual bowl on top of this thing. The top is slick so the bowl might slide around if its not heavy, which is why Im going with four stars. Eventually Ill add something to give it more traction, like those pads for the bottom of chair legs. Would also be nice if it came in other colors, because blue would not have been my choice. More sizes would be useful too, though this one has worked for my largest bowls without an issue.

It has always been a contest between dog and ants as to who gets the most food. Now it’s no contest at all. Ants definitely lost. Haven’t seen one ant in the food bowl since we got this product.

I put my dogs food bowl on it. The surface of the platform is smooth, so as soon as the dog tries to eat -- it falls off. Now my dog will never eat from it again. I cant figure out how to get the dead ants from the inside....do they transport up to Mr. Spock?
