The Movie Man
> 24 hourWanted is a mile-a-second action picture that never lets up. Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) suddenly finds that his life as an ordinary office worker is over. A beautiful woman, Fox (Angelina Jolie), crashes into his life and introduces him to the Fraternity, a secret society of assassins led by the mysterious Sloan (Morgan Freeman). Wesley is informed that his long-lost father was murdered while working for the Fraternity and Wes has been chosen to target the rogue member who did it. Before he can complete his assignment, he must first uncover the dark secrets behind the Fraternity to understand why he was selected and how he figures in its plans. The main attraction of Wanted is the amazing use of CGI special effects, from glass panes shattering as bodies fly through them to bullets redirecting their trajectory in mid-propulsion. Jolie manages to look as comfortable in action flicks as in serious dramas like the recent Changeling. She is quite the action babe and easy on the eye. McAvoy, who showed his acting chops in The Last King of Scotland and Atonement seems an odd fit for Wanted. He looks as if hes doing this one to pay for the new swimming pool. Hes fine in the early scenes as a drone-like worker lost in a huge company, but his transformation into this almost-indestructible super assassin is harder to accept. Bonus extras on this two-disc DVD include an extended scene; behind-the-scenes featurettes on the films stunts, visual effects, and origins in the graphic novel; and a making-of documentary.

> 24 hourIf youre looking for a good summer block buster type movie to watch, this isnt a bad place to start for 2008s season. The movie never takes itself too seriously, but is more of an action/thriller than a comedy. It sort of reminds me of The Matrix injected with heavy elements of Fight Club and Office Space, if that makes any sense. The action sequences are amazingly directed, the cast works and most of the jokes are funny. It speaks volumes that this film was directed by the same guy that did Night Watch and Day Watch, which are personal favorites. Wanted keeps up with that level of intensity. There are a few goofy, awkward moments, but overall, the film keeps you on the edge of your seat.

> 24 hourWanted defines the term over-the-top. This film has some of the most ridiculous action scenes and far-fetched gunfights Ive seen since The Matrix in 1999. Youve got two amazing and original car chases, lots of intense and downright awesome shootouts, an engagingly deep story, and quite a few interesting characters. The actors all do a great job, especially James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. Angelina Jolie was just there to look good and didnt do much. I highly recommend seeing this film, even if its just for the action scenes. And if you like the film, also check out the video game:

> 24 hourI cant believe Morgan Freeman showed up for this film. It is gross! You would have to love violence, cursing, hate, brutality, and incredibly sick characters in order to tolerate this film.

> 24 hour4 of 5 stars to this crazy action movie. Combine Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie and you have a powerful combination. When this movie first starts it starts slowly and seems like a dumb movie about a nerd kid. In fact, I almost turned it off. Whats cool is that minute by minute this movie gets better and better. By the end, you have a powerful action movie with solid characters. At first it jumps around a bit with the kid having dreams and some visual experiences that you dont know if theyre true or not. The story is about the son of a secret agent who gets recruited into the agency (The Fraternity). Thru the whole movie, you have to suspend your thinking as things border on fantasy rather than reality (e.g. kid gets shot, they put him into a stone bathtub with fluid that repairs him; or you can make a bullet go around solid objects by putting spin into the bullet). Anyway, they train him and set him into the field as an assassin. Oh, did I mention the truck load of rat bombs? Well, theyre part of the big ending... A good movie, alot of fun though a bit fantastic. Good action and some nice special effects. I understand this was originated from a comic book which might explain the fantastic actions. Worth watching this!

> 24 hourI love James McAvoy, he is a great actor, but I could only feel sorry that he had to work with this terrible script for an absurd movie.
