Im actually using this to maintain temperature for sourdough starter and rising dough. With a controller (bought separately) it does this very well. I do notice that it has a plastic/chemical smell. I dont think it is affecting the food, but it is still noticeable after a number of weeks.

It’s not the best mat and thermostat, but for the price it works great. I had to mess with it for about a week to get it where I wanted it. It sticks good but it helps if it’s warmed up to get it to stick. I would buy it again if I need it. I’m using for a ball python 40 gallon tank. I still use a heat emitter with it to keep temps at range, but it works pretty good.

Great product works well under my terrarium, great price and does exactly as described, I paired this with the vivosun thermostat and for the price I have no complaints. I installed this 6 days ago, so far no issues with adhesion. I read the previous reviews and made sure to prepare the surface before attempting to attach. I did this by using a wet wipe you could also use dish soap on a paper towel, then I dried the surface fully with a paper towel, then used some isopropyl alcohol on a lint free cloth and let it air dry. I then applied the heat mat to the bottom of the terrarium, made sure all air bubbles were removed and it is staying put perfectly.

We have to reset it by unplugging it every week or two because the thermostat zeros out and just keeps heating, regardless of what it is set to.

Wish I could say this product worked. It didnt. The heat mat wouldnt warm up a piece of paper. When on it was barely warm to the touch. This was tested by just plugging it straight into the wall without using the thermostat. This was of course after setting everything up and adjusting the temperature and letting the unit run for almost 2 hours and the temperature barely went up one degree above Room temperature. This was checked with an infrared thermometer and by touching it. Very disappointed by this product. It failed on all fronts. Not just the heating pad but the thermostat as well as it didnt even read the temperature properly. The probe was registering almost 90 to 95 degrees and the thermometer and even touching the pad barely registered 82 degrees. Highly disappointed. Wish I could give it no stars.
