Taco 400-4 1/8-Inch-NPT Float Air Hy-Vent

This valve was an exact replacement for our old, rusted, leaking one. Installation was not too tough, but be prepared for some squirting water! It works perfectly now.

I installed this at the junction point of the feed manifold from my boiler to all the zones in my house, a direct replacement of a failed automatic bleed valve. This Taco 400-4 works like a charm. Upon refilling of the system, it immediately started hissing, which is good. Overall it took about 20 minutes to purge all the air out of the system. Very impressed. The material, construction and heft of this Taco 400-4 is quite good.

Between a faulty auto-fill valve and air vent, my second floor radiators would become air-locked. Replaced both and now Im staying nice and warm! This is one of those preventative maintenance items you should replace every couple/few years.

I have really bad water (chlorine), and I go through a lot of these. They plug up and/or fail quickly, and Ive had faulty ones right out of the box. I recommend the Watts FV-4M1. The Watts work better and last much longer, theyre just hard to find and cost a few bucks more.

I installed the vent in a low pressure in-floor heating system that has never been without air problems, including leaky vents.. This vent was perfect from the beginning and has been over the winter. When releasing the small air bubble, there is never a water leak. Excellent value for the money.

Easy install

Worked perfectly, feels heavy and well made. The one it replaced was 15 years old, so time will tell.

I shut the system down, ordered this part, it came in the next day, I installed it. It does what its supposed to, end of story.
