Taco 400-4 1/8-Inch-NPT Float Air Hy-Vent

I just installed them. I really havent had a long use out of them but they are preforming well at this time.

I was struggling with air in my baseboard heaters and kept trying to bleed the system and the noises kept coming back. Someone suggested I give this a try. I installed it, which was very easy, and the noises immediately went away. Wonderful! Couldnt be happier.

These seem to start leaking water after some time but this model has been good for the past few months. Will keep watching but boiler is much quieter now.

Between a faulty auto-fill valve and air vent, my second floor radiators would become air-locked. Replaced both and now Im staying nice and warm! This is one of those preventative maintenance items you should replace every couple/few years.

Ive tried Watts, coin vents, some other generic type, but this one has been the best. The knob on top feels functional, like a small turn does make a difference. On air vents like Watts, theres a lot of play in the knob and you dont get a good feel of how open it is. Also, with Watts Ive had water leaking out, and have never had that with Taco. I cant see myself buying any other vents than these. I took a star off because it was packaged horribly and arrived pretty crushed. My understanding is that the inner components, although not fragile, shouldnt be carelessly abused. There was no care in packaging at all. The Taco packaging was placed in an envelope when it absolutely needs a box for protection.

Fits and works well so far. Arrived very quickly to my surprise. The price is very reasonable.
