Really good headphones! The only thing I would note is that it is not made for working out. The fit is not tight so if you workout and tend to do a lot of movement, this is not for you. Its also not water proof or water resistant so be careful with sweat as well. Other than that the noise cancelling and the easy access control are all nice

So the description says Silver but it’s more a dark/neutral cream color so didn’t love that. I had to download a separate app just to pair this which I thought was annoying because I had to setup a whole other account password etc so it didn’t feel compatible it felt like when you have to buy an AUX cord to connect to your car And quite often my phone would seek out my AirPods over my new headphones so that was inconvenient The sound is great and the noise cancellation is good it’s just not suited for people who have 10 apple products and one non Apple product

These headphones do a great job with ANC but if you take the bus in Los Angeles like I do during rush hour 5 days a week, you will still hear noises and chatter. Also, the size of the case will take up a fair amount of space in your backpack.

Im coming from the Sony H900N so keep that in mind. Immediately noticeable: 1) How lightweight they are compared to my last pair. Night/day difference. These headphones are an upgraded and new form of my old headphones. The actual headphones poke out a little more but weigh much less than my old pair. 2) Design - flawless. I use these for studying, workflow, and eventually working out although I have not done that yet. Very nice to look at, and comfortable to wear. 3) Function - It has all the functions I loved with my old headphones with more sensitive and touch-friendly material on the headphones which acts as a remote (forward, backward volume up /down/ pause/play, etc. ) 4) I have seen a lot of people complain about it not folding down but I have zero complaints. Its not a big deal. In fact, even though my old headphones folded down they were exposed in my bag. If I put my old headphones in its case I feel they were much bulkier than this carrying case. The new case is of quality, light material and has a loop to carry it with. I just stick the whole thing in my bag and feel better about it having the extra protection. 5) Im very happy with my buy. I only upgraded because my old sony left headphones started to give out after 4-5 years of heavy lifting and use. That itself speaks to the quality of SONY.

I have been looking for some good over the ear headphones and seen so many good reviews of these. I decided to try them out and these are some amazing head phones! I recently had to travel and ended up wearing them for 6 hours straight! Battery life: The battery was full and by the end of my travel it dropped to 85% so the battery life is outstanding. Noise cancellation: It was really good and didn’t create too much pressure while on. Even when the headphones were off it did an amazing job of damping outside noise. Ex: I was by a VERY loud construction site and once I put on the headphones (turned off) it almost dampened the noise completely. Ambient Mode: It’s nice, I will say that in some cases I didn’t really use it. For example if you are in a loud environment it will be extremely loud while on. Which makes sense as the point of AMB is to be aware of your surroundings but if you have sensory issues I would be mindful of it. When you do the quick ambient sound it’s really good and makes what you need to hear very clear. There is very little static noise but if you are listening closely it’s very faint. Comfort: These are so comfortable and lightweight. Part of the reason I was having difficulty choosing over the ear headphones was because many were too heavy for my liking but when I wore these I forgot I had them on. I only had to adjust them once when it hit closer to the 5 hour mark. There is very little discomfort. My only thing is being that they are so light it feels like they can slip off easily sometimes. When you have them laying on your neck it can be a little uncomfortable at least for me. They landed on my collarbones so there was just hard plastic hitting my collarbones over a bit of time. But that is just me nit picking. Few set backs: the storage of them is a little inconvenient or undesirable. I wish these could fold because the case is quite large and take ups a lot of space especially when you are traveling. Overall: I have really enjoyed the experience with these headphones! I would really recommend these to someone who has auditory sensitivity like myself because they check a lot of boxes! There are only a few things that I wasn’t a huge fan of but that was like I said me nit picking. A video that was very helpful in making this decision was by: This is Tech Today on YouTube, they really went in-depth of all the features while also comparing it to different nc/amb headphones!

For those worried about either getting this or the previous model. This xm5 is worth it, the only thing is the design which depending on the person can look a little weird but the functions are top tier and the battery lasts so long

I owned the WH-1000XM3 & they were the best ANC headphones Id ever encountered, until the WH-1000XM4 came out & yes I did upgrade. The WH-1000XM4 was a big improvement over the already extremely hot WH-1000XM3. Needless to say I wondered if Sony would make a WH-1000XM5, because how do you improve on perfection??? Well I pre-ordered these from Amazon & I got the this afternoon. Sony not only improved perfection, they redefined it! The WH-1000XM5 are incredible! The previous WH-1000XM4 had 1 Sony QN1 ANC processor with 4 microphones & it did an amazing job at noise cancellation! It even had a handy button on the headphones themselves that once pressed would start an automated ANC optimization algorithm. Well, these new WH-1000XM5 not only have an updated version of Sonys QN1 ANC processor, it has 2 of them! Where the WH-1000XM4 had 4 microphones, the WH-1000XM5 has 8 microphones. Each updated Sony QN1 ANC processor has 4 microphones attached to it. Not only is that a dramatic improvement, you no longer have to start the ANC Optimization, as the WH-1000XM5 constantly monitors your environment & adjust the ANC to automatically block out nearly all noise!!! Further more it actually works extremely well! The WH-1000XM5 are nearly completely silent! They also support LDAC via Bluetooth with ANC & they sound phenomenal! Now I actually did buy all of these myself, trust me I wish Sony would let me test and/or review these things! But I have actually owned the WH-1000XM3, WH-1000XM4 & WH-1000XM5 & the WH-1000XM5 is absolutely the best of the best!

You probably already know that these days, all the flagship noise cancellation headphones are awesome. It’s truly splitting hairs comparing these to those from Apple and Bose. They’re all just so good. I chose these these over Apple, even as an iPhone user. My main reason was wanting USB C, and the vastly superior battery life. It’s insane, I’ve been using them weeks and still am at 60% power. You can use them every day and charge like once a month. No regrets.

    Greater than one week

I had a very nice performing budget ANC headphones for a few years, which unfortunately not sold anymore. As they statted peeling off and I accidentally broke one side, decised to go to a new pair. The issue is that I recently was very disappointed with high advertised medium priced headphones, so after a bunch of research I went to these, as multiple sources indicated xm4 or xm5 as best recommendation. It is understated luxury. Box not flashy, headphones smooth without any huge brand names, fit perfectly, came in galf charged. After turning them on, I did not even need to invoke pairing dialog on my laptop, it automatically jumped out offering to pair. After paired to my phone and installing app, it automatically caught that I use Google Assistant and not Alexa and suggest to be linked to. Taps and swipes for managing volume, pause, tracks are so intuitive, I needed only to glance through the instructions and see hold and swipe, and it made sense. So far first impression is great - you pay not for flashiness, but for comfort, quality and ease of use. I still need to read more about multipoint pairing between phone and laptop, as I want to be able to listen to music from phone, but respond to meeting calls coming in from laptop wherever needed.
