> 3 dayI used this in my desktop for around a year before I outgrew it because of gaming, and for the time it was fantastic and just insanely fast and I cant believe I can say this, but it outperformed my current WD_1tb NVMe drive, it is now back in use being used in my Thinkpad. Probably will buy a 2tb version for my desktop and swap my 1tb one into my church computer for storage purposes [I am going to buy the 2TB version for my desktop and probably ditch my SATA SSD or HDD or both]

Greater than one weekIve used SATA versions of SK Hynix Gold SSDs in other computer builds, and they are outstanding. This was my first time cloning/replacing a WIndows 11, bitlocker encrypted NVME, 1TB up to 2TB. My Dell XPS 15 9570 is PCI express Gen 3, so there was zero need for buying a more expensive, faster drive. The upgrade worked perfectly using Macrium Reflect 8, connecting this drive with a ORICO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure, 10 Gbps USB3.2 USB-C Tool-Free Aluminum Adapter. The only real twist is to clone the drive unecrypted (bitlocker disabled) and then turn it back on after the swap. I extended the C partition to use the new space using Mini Partition Tool. Worked perfectly, and, this drive performs faster than my stock NVME.

31-10-2024Easy to install & works fine. Only downside is that it didn’t come with a mounting screw, which the computer didn’t have either.

> 3 dayThis was a straight replacement for a 500 GB SSD on an Alienware laptop. I built an Acronis backup of the old SSD and created a recovery USB drive. Everything worked great after I moved some partitions around. Great product.

> 3 dayI was unsure really if I could trust the quality or not of this drive simply because of past experiences with hynix memory being rather hit and miss or simply a bunch of rebranded micron or other brand memory chips on the memory sticks Ive bought from them in the past. I figured the price was good enough and amazon is pretty good with returns so give it a try. Well Ive given it almost 3 months now and the speed is fantastic and very responsive. Ive filled about 1/4th of the drive to 1/2 of the drive space up with games, media, random files and the performance has not dropped. The speeds for read and writing are fantastic and reliable so far. plus having their warranty at 5 years is not bad either. This drive came with no frills to it, packaging was chopped down to just what is necessary and nothing more. no heatsink included with this drive, no software for copying drives(which was ok for me as I was just using it for the extra storage for games and programs alone.). Install aside from the laptop side problems was a breeze, simple slide in and press down and secure with the screw(no screws provided with drive but my laptop had extras in the stick slots so that worked out perfect.). It formatted with not issues and windows recognized it without problems too. Overall at this point I give it a 5 out of 5. It does run warm but according to all data related to these newer style drives that is actually a good thing for their health and performance. It does result in sweatier hands, but hey its winter so at least I got a nice hand warmer. lol If you are on the line between this and samsung I would say unless you want one with already attached heatsink you could do worse for the price. I think for once all the parts and pieces truly are made by this company in South Korea and they are truly high quality. So I for one say go for it!
