Silpat has been around for a long time. The design printed to help space out cookies evenly is handy. I havent tried other brands and I would like to see some side by side comparisons. I suspect that there are cheaper versions of these mats that perform just as well.

So, we bought this to cut down on our use of parchment paper. I can never tear the parchment paper correctly. Plus its a big old waste of paper. Since its only 1 use item. Ive been seeing these silicon baking sheets thinking well maybe I should give this a shot. I baked my first batch of Chocolate Chip cookies with my baking mat, and I will tell you those cookies baked up perfectly and did not stick. They slid right off the mat. The size rings were nice and I plan to order another set for my other pan as I did a side by side with parchment paper and this mat and I like the way the cookies on this mat turned out. No more parchment paper in a pear tree for me.

I make bacon in the oven and use these instead of parchment paper. The were great - no sticking, easy to clean and did the job. Cant wasit to use them for Christmas Cookies!

TBH I was super sketchy about ordering these through Amazon because of all the horror stories people testified about receiving Chinese counterfeit product. I decided to take a chance and order two of the cookie baking mats because I already had two legit regular Silpats I could use to compare, and I was relieved after a little bit of investigation. I compared the mesh spacing, the thickness and texture of the silicone, the letter stenciling and over-spray, the cut corners, the excess silicone cut-off points at the corners, and painstakingly scrutinized the packaging they came in checking for image blur, misspellings, and other factors. There was a ever so slight difference between the Silpats I already had, but I am convinced this is just a matter of different tooling used to make these newer units. I have used these new Silpat Cookie Baking Mats to cook more than 500 cookies over the holidays. They have held up excellently. They even seem to not hold on to as much oil/grease as my older ones. I wash them ever time before and after each use, and I store them rolled with print side out (old drafting habits) between paper towels. I am very happy with the circle spacing pattern on the sheets and it totally justified the cost for me. I am an avid baker the pattern layout helps me maximize my production which saves time. For those interested about my setup for cookie marathons, it is as follows: Nordic Ware Aluminum Commercial Bakers Half Sheet (2 Pack), Silver ($21.99) Ultra Cuisine 100% Stainless Steel Wire Cooling Rack for Baking fits Half Sheet Pans (x2 $19.98 each) Silpat Perfect Cookie Baking Mat (x2 $24.99 each) I never cook directly aluminum or even allow it to touch my food. That being said I am very happy with this setup until I find something better. Good luck. Godspeed

I love these Silpat silicone mats. Ive used them for cookies, fish fillets BBQ ribs. Clean easily. Food slips right off. No more scrubbing hard baked on crust off my cookie sheets.

I can’t believe I just got this after years of making cookies. It’s like a magic trick with how the cookies don’t spread while baking on this thing. With that said: you might need to adjust baking times with certain cookie recipes. The America’s test Kitchen Perfect Chocolate Chip cookies I made definitely tasted different because they didn’t spread. The shortbread cookies I made looked absolutely perfect. I also like that I’m not going through gobs of parchment paper.

I added this to our bakeware collection for my girls aged 9 & 12. It’s perfect to set their cookies right and maximize the cookie sheet. Very helpful in our kitchen...

Only used once so far.....but seems to work well. It was a little smaller than my Airbake cookie sheet, but still managed to fit all cookies on well. Was an easy task to move entire batch on this mat to the cooking rack and left them on it to cool. Cookies came out great. Would recommend. I was prior using disposable parchment paper. This was as easy to remove cookies from, they came out just as good, and is reusable. (Also, made it much simpler to transfer to cooling rack on this), I expect next time, I will make cookies a little smaller, and make 13.......since they ran together a little.

These cookie-outlined mats are stellar, as are all of Silpats silicone mat offerings. There are plenty of in-depth reviews to cover all the good stuff. Ill just add that it would be nice if we could find a Silpat-type offering thats made in the USA, because Id buy it in a heartbeat. For now, though, a genuine Silpat mat thats made in France is about as close as we can come to getting a guaranteed, quality, silicone baking mat. When cared for, genuine Silpat mats will last for years. Theyre an investment.
