Sennheiser headphones have always performed! Near studio sound across models, but the HD 25s are superb! Not overdone bass like Beats, highs dont fall apart like Sony. The fit is snug on my big head. But, it does a great job filtering out room noise. Noise reduction is passive (non-electronic) which is a good thing! Active electronic noise filtering (Bose, Sony) affects sound quality. These headphones prove it once again. If you are looking for serious sound, pick up a pair of these!

Evaluating audio equipment is always subjective, take that as a given. These phones have very good sound clarity with minimal false coloring across all frequencies and provide a noticeable depth of sound stage. They have some emphasis on bass, but it avoids being boomy or otherwise intrusive for most listening. My only issue, rather minor at that, is a somewhat tight fit. A bit looser headband and less pressure on the ears would lead me to rate them higher. Sensitivity is quite low. With my smartphone, an LG V20, a volume level of less than 50% of maximum provides plenty of volume, a lower setting than any other phones I have used.

Theres a good reason these have been a standard for DJs over the last 25+ years. Comfortable, light weight and sound great.

These headphones are really nice. The sound quality and the noise cancellation is really nice. I also like the capability of being able to fold one of the ears off to the side, i works well when mixing music. My only complaint is that the headphones themselves are a bit small for my big ears. They put alot of pressure on them and after not even 30 minutes, my ears start to hurt. Sad since I paid a pretty penny for them, but that was my own fault for not looking into it more.

Ive been using this model headphone for about 20 years professionally as a medical transcriptionist. Back in the day the cord was rubberized, non tangle and non kinking.. The phones themselves sounded great. I used them about 10 hours a day between work and recreationally. Fast forward to about 5 years ago when I bought a new pair after my original beloved set gave up the ghost and just fell apart. The cord was now a much cheaper plasticized cord that never straightened out and stayed permanently bent and kinked. One of the headphone wires developed a short or some sort of contact issue that made it stop working until the cord was unplugged from the speaker and then plugged back in. This happened constantly. Bear in mind that both cords going to both headphones are detachable and can be unplugged from the headset. So I bought yet another pair that had the same issue of sound shorting out in one headphone until the cord was unplugged and then replugged. This happened multiple times daily. Same cheapo plasticized cord. Then I Googled and discovered that the cord connection was the source of a problem for many people, some of whom offered self-fixes on YouTube or other websites. A new cord is outrageously expensive, in the 40-50 dollar range. So in my experience these are not what they used to be, not even close. Be aware of the cord shorting issue before you buy and think about whether you want to risk having the same issue that has plagued many owners of these headphones.

I’m really disappointed with these. I bought a pair about 10 years ago and the sound is way better. The reason I bought these was an issue with one of the wires on my old ones. The sound is really just ok not worth the price for me. Then top it off the left side is lower in sound. Really not happy here.

They started shorting out before I could even use them for a recording class (which recommended them). Since I needed them in a hurry, returning wasnt an option. It was a struggle as they would cut in and out unless I held them just right. [EDIT: I eventually just pulled out the connectors and put them back in when this happened every now and then. In 2022 I had to replace the cord because the wire broke after years of bending. The earphones have worked fine over the years since I bought them and I would buy them again (unless I find something better)

Light weight, comfortable, and versatile make these perfect for run and gun video/film style. Very good audio quality. But impossible to change from the coiled cord to the straight the cord. I was unable to find the appropriate size took to use so I gave up. They should include it in the package given the pricing.

These were my first DJ headphones. They are virtually weightless and extremely flexible. I could wear them a couple of hours at a time and not be in agony. Even, clear sound - not the bassiest choice you can make for sound though. HOWEVER: They lasted about a year before the connection went to crap and the right cable began to short out. Now, they require me to wiggle, press and bend on the right side (red) connection point in order for both sides to work, and its not always stable, even or consistent. And of course, wouldnt you know it, this happened just out of warranty and Sennheiser didnt deem them worthy of repair. It really drove me nuts and I had to replace them. Since I was mad at Sennheiser I went with a different brand, at which time I learned that I really like a coiled, detachable cable with ONE connection point, and that I prefer over-ear cups to on-ear. Your mileage may vary on all of this - the fit, how you perceive the sound, whether they stay functional for you, but this was my experience with these entry-level cans and I wouldnt buy them again. If I didnt prefer over-ears to on-ears, Id make the investment in the HD25 plus model and skip these altogether though, because yeah, senni sound.
