SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Black (MU-PA1T0B/AM)

The product is much smaller and lighter than I expected. After connecting it to one of the USB 3 ports on the back of my computer, it essentially disappears among the wires... Its probably only half the size of an iphone and is lighter. The speed is terrific - I installed Cyberpunk 2077 on it and load times are super fast, like 5-10 seconds to load a saved game. So in summary, small, fast, and stable enough to run a huge complex game - a terrific product.

I love SSD. I hate how the prices keep dropping, but once you see it in action, you can never go back to a flash drive or bulky disk drive. Get a case for this to keep your data safe.

Bought to replace traditional external hard drive. Works well this far.

It was a gift for my girlfriend, she loved it because she needed a new one to backup her files and work, she love that it is so small and light and easy to carry, it is very fast too.

I am not sure if this is legit or not, I trust Amazon and they did give me a full refund, but I did a test with h2testw and it gave me this report.

I have windows 10 pro tech pc (64bit, it has dual intel core TM -i7 -6820HQ CPU, 32gb ram). Data write speed is no where near as advertised. Maybe for a second or two it hit 80MB/s, lowest was 80kb/s, and averaged about 3MB. Took over 3 hours to copy 80GB of data. I tried everything, closing every program and unplugged every usb devices, so this was tested with only the samsung T5 plugged in and the power cable for the computer. Disappointed with speed, im able to get better speed with regular external HDD. Also the drive gets pretty hot after a while. Cant justify the 4X cost over regular HDD, not worth it. Will be returning this back for something else, unless the seller can compensate.

The little Portable SSDs are great except for one thing that they fail to tell you. Yes the are durable, yes they are fast, yes they are high capacity, the red one can hold up to 500 Gb, and the black one up to 1,000 GB/1 Tb. Not magnetic media, so airport scanners shouldnt affect them, but havent taken one through one.

I’m a software engineer, and I live by the words “you can’t have too many backups”. The T5 is a great little SSD, and it’s pretty fast. I mostly work in VM’s, so at the end of the day I make several copies of the VM file. My 50 GB VM copies to a T5 in just under 2 minutes.

These T5s are fast, small and seem very sturdy. Ive dropped them on the carpet a number of times with no problems. Being only memory circuits, Im guessing they would take some drops on a hard surface with no technical damage up to a certain point. I get about 550 MB/s via Type-C Gen 2 connection, as measured by the excellent and free Blackmagic Disk Speed application, so they are blazingly fast.
