As other reviewers have pointed out, this drive is not Mac OsX compatible despite Samsungs claims to the contrary on the packaging. You cannot encrypt the drive without installing the provided driver. Against my better judgement, I tried it. The driver freezes the Mac when you eject the drive, and does the same thing to non-Samsung drives. Uninstallation requires hunting down and deleting kernel extensions. Know what those are? You wont have to find out if you dont buy this drive. Get something better.

This works great with Windows and good with linux. I didnt check whether the warranty is expired when I received the SSD, however. The storage is also not 1T as expected. Its only 931GB, as seen in my photo. Every Gigabyte counts with the work I do, so I am disappointed. The exterior of the drive is surprisingly slippery and it tends to slide around within the small compartment of my bag due to how light it is. The SSD doesnt make any noises, but it sometimes make my 2021 laptop go overdrive when the drives files are opened too long. All in all, it gets the job done for the money. Remember to reformat the device to exPhat if youre using a non-iOS pc to make it compatible. Forgot to mention, but I bought a used version of this drive instead of a new one and it still holds up despite minor external scruffs.

Im quite frustrated as Ive purchased 2 of these drives and they have lasted 6 months and a 1 year respectively. Ive been putting them in my car as a location to save security recordings. My current drive is showing error when trying to reformat: error :wiping volume data to prevent future accidental probing failed

working great and fast

Very high transfer speeds. I use it in conjunction with the ASUS USB 3.1 gen 2 pci card.

Best part is the cheaper price than buying it in my local computer store.
