I have an older MacBook Pro and the t5 ssd was amazing, so thought Id upgrade. I was wrong with the upgrade. Since my laptops older its taking SO LONG for a simple 100GB file transfer from my t5 over to my T7. I will most likely return the SSD if I cant find a solution to make it work as efficiently as my T5. Disappointed with how slow it is. My memory cards write faster.

This is a very nice external drive for the price. Sure, I would like to have more than 1 TB, but they are more costly right now. The small physical size is nice and I like that it came with two cables: usb A and usb C.

Kept getting those pesky Scratch Disks are Full message from Photoshop (Mac). Heard an SSD drive might be a good option. At first, I couldnt get Photoshop to recognize the drive. Read from another reviewer that you need to format the drive: Open Disk Utility app to inspect the drive (it comes formatted in exFAT). Reformat to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) -- this will erase anything on the drive, so be certain nothing is on it that you need. After that, it worked fine. Easy!

I have two of these drives. I have properly installed the Mac software on my new, updated Mac laptop. Neither drive is more than 3/4 full. They both repeatedly crash, generate error messages, or appear on Finder without being internally viewable. This is a remarkably small drive that would be a great product if it worked. Because these drives do not perform the function for which they were designed--storing and making my data available to me--they are effectively useless. Do not buy.

What an improvement over an old hard drive. Im using this SSD drive on an iMac as a Time Machine backup. It was drop dead simple to install, its lightening fast, it works flawlessly, its incredibly small and its QUIET! I see all sorts of reviews dinging this SSD drive for heat and speed. Perhaps these geeks are using it for specialized purposes but its an excellent value and it really doesnt get hot on my system. Highly recommended.

This is a great SSD drive for back ups replacing using DVDs for backups. I did not use the backup software -- just wrote my own data.

Bought one of these for my wife who was using an old WD Passport External HDD for all of her work files. She does a lot of Powerpoint and working with those files on her previous drive was painfully slow - shed click on something and have to wait 3 or 4 seconds before anything changed. I knew an upgrade was needed and after a lot of research went with this Samsung T7
