I have the new m1 MacBook Air, and opted for the base model, understanding I will need to buy external storage. I thought about building a NVMe enclosure/drive, but read the reviews about the t7 and it seemed like a more direct route. I do video editing so having a fast external is paramount.

Keep it backed up. Mine only lasted for 2 years. I certainly didnt buy a 2-year SSD but thats what happened. The thing gets treated well. It never goes anywhere, it even got a little cover on it. Of course, its out of warranty. But this drive should have lasted for way longer than two years. If Samsung or Amazon would like to do something helpful with this that would help. It should have lasted way longer.
