The 1,050 MB/s read and 1,000 MB/s write speed claim was too much for me to resist, although I doubted it would be realized in my experience. It was not. Because of the size, appearance and affordable (for me) reduced price, I will keep this beautiful little memory card, but am very displeased with its speed. I will just think of it as my fastest portable flash drive, with the greatest capacity. I have attached Samsungs own Magician test for this card, plus a test of two other drives, plus a subsequent T7 test using CrystalDiskMark8 set to NVMe. My custom-built PC is 3.1 Gen2 from the operating system drive all the way to the motherboard port used for this last test, so I am somewhat humiliated by the fantastic results some reviewers have seen, but practically there is no problem for me. What amazes me is that the newer Seagate 3.5 HDDs run at nearly 200 MB/s on 3.1 Gen2. I used to think that was not theoretically possible. Good times!

This is by far the best and fastest external hard drive I have ever purchased. The first surprise was how small it is. This is much smaller and lighter than a standard external hard drive. It is also about twice as fast as other SSD external drives. It really lives up to the claim. This makes it ideal or me to keep my 28,000 photos and thousands of songs on it, keeping my internal hard drive for my Macbook Pro for the operating system and apps. The drive is so fast then is no lag when accessing any of these files. I wholeheartedly recommend this device.

When I buy a 2TB size drive I expect 2TB of available space, not 1.81TB. Thats not a 2TB drive. Thats a 1.81TB drive.

Storage capacity is great very fast and reliable. And yes the give cable is short! However it’s short for great reason, because of data transmission! If you use a 9 foot cable the data transmission will be compromised not by much but it will be compromise. Plus this is not a flash drive, it supposed to be used like a extra portable hard drive.
