Samsung T7 is NVMe SSD, and Samsung T5 is portable standard SSD. I own two Samsung T5 and this one - Samsung T7 500GB. Tested both T5 and T7 using same PC, same USB-C ports, same benchmark programs - Samsung T5 is faster in any tests: ATTO, CrystalDiskMark7 and Samsung Magician Benchmark test. See pictures of ATTO benchmark for both SSDs. The only advantage of Samsung T7 vs Samsung T5 is the temperature - during heavy load T5 can reach 50+ Celsius, but T7 temperature is always below 40C.

well unfortunately for me something went wrong with the drive after using for only 1 weekend. I was not able to access any of the video files that should have been saved.

I run a a daw off of this external and it handles it no problem.

This is a very compact and easy to use and transport drive. I really like the fast read/write speeds with USB-C connection and love the easy to use and effective whole-drive encryption. No negatives at all so far. Ive owned one of these for a year and use it daily. I recently bought a second one during a flash sale as the price has dropped significantly.

Vi que era pequeño, pero no creí que tanto! Es muy pequeño que me sorprende que tenga tanta capacidad y sea tan rápido. Cabe en cualquier parte. Por $1500 que me costó, me compraría otro si lo necesitará sin ninguna duda.
