Greater than one weekThis is a great portable SSD. I use this to backup my Windows User folders which are full of documents, music, videos, and other large files Ive accumulated over the past 2+ decades. It is also useful for transferring files from an old to a new laptop. When you are dealing with transferring a large amount of data, speed is a must and this product delivers. It is much faster than the older external HDD it has replaced. The design is slim and attractive and I love that it comes with both USB-A and USB-C connector cables.

> 3 daySpeed is up into the GB/s range and the build quality is great! I really can not stress that enough this is a device that I will just hold in my hand and fidget with because it feels so smooth and well made, slides in almost anywhere with ease and feels like it could be dropped off a roof onto concreate and still work fine.

> 3 dayThis drive lives up to its speed claims, right around 900mb/s on my iMacPro... but. The drive runs very hot, even when its idle. I have it sitting right next to its brother, a Samsung T5 2TB SSD and that drive never gets hot even when hiting it hard (temp right now is (87-degrees F) while the T7 is hitting 100+ degrees F at idle.

> 3 dayI forgot to format this ahead of putting hundreds of gigs of info on it. I used it for three computers and it ended up being totally fine. I was certain I’d have to circle back and spend several more hours moving data, but very grateful that didn’t need to happen.

> 3 dayAfter experiencing random disconnects and sometimes overheated (hot-to-the-touch) drive behavior I am returning mine to Amazon! Ive used Samsung internal storage solutions (SSD, M2 SSD, etc.) for some time now and have always been quite pleased and satisfied with the performance, which affected my decision to buy these drives believing Id get the same type of quality. However, Samsung (in my honest opinion) should chalk up the T7 as a complete failure. I purchased three of these drives and all three of them suffer from random disconnects. Theres something majorly wrong with that kind of behavior with these drives, which seem to all consistently do this.

> 3 dayPicked up two of these recently. I am using it in my Tesla for the dashcam (500gb) and a 1TB for computer backups. It is blazing fast and highly recommended. You could easily use this for gaming etc.
