Plug and play for most, if you’ve updated windows 10 to 1903 then you’ll have to download the migrate software from Samsung to clone your original drive. Went from 2 minute start up to five seconds... runs without a hiccup. 5 stars!

Its like having a new computer. it does not come with hardware to mount it in a 3.5 bay, so if you dont have a spare 2.5 bay in your machine you will need a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter.

The drive is part of an AMD 3700X build on an ASRock X570 MB. Out of the box, it achieved the performance advertised and was about 10 times slower than my PCI4.0 Corsair MP600. Looking to increase performance started reading some info and installing the Samsung Magician software did not do anything special. Finally noticed the update for the Magician software which I did. THis opened up the firmware update for the drive and also enabled rapid mode. What a difference! My 2TB 860 EVO actually has faster test results than my Force MP600.

I wish I had purchased the 500gb but this worked well. Easy install and great performance improvement on my 2011 imac

Ordered from Warehouse deals at a discount and everything looked fine at first even had inspection sticker on the box, and even the outer case said 500gb.... It installed fine until I went into Bios and noticed it was only listed as an EVO 850 250gb after further inspection I noticed the case was loose and the screw holding it together had been marred/tampered with... I assume someone switched an old one out into a new case and got a full refund for an old drive...., I even offered customer service a very fare $75 discount for an unwarranted, tampered with device, since the drive checked out OK, but they only offered me a very firm $50 off , so theyll just get it back so they can lose money trashing it or falsely pass it off again to someone else who will return it or possibly do the same thing ...Moral of the story, they DO NOT check returned products very well so check your products carefully when buying from warehouse deals and they are only allowed to give $50 off even if they are gonna lose money in a vicious cycle of stupid in the end...

It was my understanding the Drive would come with a Disk with 2 software. Samsung Magician and Data Migration, to help with cloning and transfer of files. The Drive came with no software. Downloadable, but was expecting to receive it with Drive. Loss of 1 star.

Wow! This was a super simple install. The team at Samsung has done a good job of simplifying this process for us non-tech savy folks.

Cant go wrong with this SSD. Its fast, reliable and did I mentioned that it was FAST. If you have a need for speed, look no further than this 1TB SSD. Gives you the speed of an SSD and the storage of a regular Hard Drive. For $127 its a no brainner.
