> 3 dayIn one of my old Windows dinosaur rigs (built in 2012 for W8 Pro, upgraded to W10 Pro), I had been using a Vertex 4 256GB SSD for the OS and the more important programs. As Windows users all know and dont love, it has an ever increasing hunger for more space more space MORE SPACE, and I had to keep removing programs from the drive just to accommodate the OSs ever expanding waistline (bloat), so I finally had to buy a larger drive just to run the same programs I wanted to host on an SSD instead of platter drives.

> 3 dayThe product can be detected by the bios, by device manager, but it cant be detected by disk management. Tested this on other computers, still didnt appear and result in the same issue.

> 3 dayThis is the 3rd Samsung EVO I have installed to resurrect an older computers. This time, I replaced a 256GB SSD on my ASUS Q505 UA running Windows 11 which has been quite reliable. I simply ran out of space. Amazon delivered this to my door same day and I installed it within the hour. I could have used an s.2 version of the drive, but the HDD bay was available, so it was easier and faster to simply drop the SSD into the bay, close up the laptop and reset the Boot Drive.

Greater than one weekThis is my fourth Samsung 870 EVO or QVO SSD drive. They are well built, have excellent speed and are fairly priced. The Samsung Data Migration tool is excellent too. Many third party cloning software companies are now charging for their products-even the free Home versions which have historically been free. Pro tip: Make sure Windows BitLocker is turned OFF on your Source drive prior to trying to clone it. Many cloning programs will not copy a BitLocked drive. I had to go down the deeeeep, darrrrrk rabbit hole and get BitLocker turned OFF before migrating it.Easy to do if you know about it BEFORE the fact.

31-10-2024I had a lot of failures with Seagate hard drives, both mechanical and solid state. Samsung has held up the best.
