30-10-2024I bought this heat lamp for a small chicken brooder. It has worked great. I was worried about 60w not giving off enough heat but it maintained a temperature of 100 degrees for the first week. I have it hooked up with an Encompass All Temperature Controller to control the temps. (Note: I hang the light inside the brooder, the heat lamp has to be about a foot off the bottom. You can raise it as the chicks grow. Leaving it on top of the brooder will not keep it warm enough.) I only recommend this lamp for about 5-6 chicks, if you have more I would get at least a 100w heat lamp.
